Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly Dixon-Dudley.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kimberly. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a proud native Houstonian with East Texas roots. I own and manage several real estate companies, including Kimberly Lane Properties, KLPTX, LLC, Diq Dud LLC Development and Amerifirst General Contracting of Texas, LLC. In 2017, my passion for Real Estate evolved into residential development and am currently launching my first 20 home community located in Southeast Houston, Vantage Pointe at Sunnyside. www.vpsunnyside.com.
As a collegiate athlete, I earned a bachelor’s in Business Marketing then continued my education with a Master’s degree in Human Behavior and Social Science. I am forever grateful for the coaches and mentors who have poured into me over the years, which is why I am so passionate about lighting a pathway for others.
I’ve volunteered on a number of boards over the years, but am proud to be a long-standing member of the City of Houston’s Board of Public Trust. The board and I share the honor of oversight and funding of resources granted to the City. We provide financial assistance to new and existing programs which serve the humanitarian needs of children and the elderly population of Houston.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No! But I can say that every challenge, obstacle and failure has been worth it. I’ve struggled with a fear of judgment, fear of failing, fear of everything. I make it a point to give myself credit when I’m able to quiet negative thoughts and embrace my strengths; which gives me the space to pursue my passion and create positive change.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Kimberly Lane Properties story. Tell us more about the business.
Kimberly Lane Properties was founded in 2006. Since then, we’ve been a part over $100 million in real estate transactions. Our office is located in the Memorial Heights area, just outside of Houston’s 610 loop, but we have agents who practice all over the city of Houston. We specialize in exceptional care in helping clients navigate their home buying, selling, or investing experience. Most of the firm’s business is acquired through referrals. It’s an outstanding honor for families to trust us with their personal investments, but we are especially grateful when they make an effort to speak on our behalf in referring us to their friends, families and circles of influence.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is an interesting concept in business, in that it’s a random chance the something good will happen-I believe this happens sometimes… but we are all exchanging energy (good and bad) on a daily basis. So, I’d say Karma has played a more meaningful role in my life and business. More importantly, I believe sustainable success requires maximum preparation, effort and dedication. Luck is the icing on the cake. I’m indifferent about icing…
