Hi King , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a creative, entrepreneur, and storyteller from Houston, Texas. My journey hasn’t been easy, but every setback taught me something and pushed me to go harder. I’ve always believed that your past doesn’t define your future—your hustle does.
I started with music because it gave me a way to express myself and tell stories people could relate to. That passion eventually grew into filmmaking with Cross the Hall Productions, where I’m creating original films and opening doors for other talented creatives. I also built Fat Boi Burgers from the ground up, starting under a tent with a vision and turning it into a growing business.
Everything I do is about building something bigger than myself. Whether it’s making music, shooting films, running businesses, or creating content, I want to inspire people to chase what they believe in, even when the odds are against them. I don’t believe in waiting for opportunities—I believe in creating them.
Right now, I’m focused on taking every brand I’m building to the next level. My goal is to leave a legacy through entertainment, entrepreneurship, and showing people that with consistency, faith, and hard work, anything is possible. I’m just getting started, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nah, the roads always bumpy.
I’ve experienced a lot in my lifetime. I lost friends young and myself after being shot in 2017. I fell out of love with music and found new things to keep me occupied while I figured out my life and myself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an independent filmmaker, music artist, and entrepreneur. I founded Cross the Hall Productions to create films that tell real stories and give opportunities to other creatives. Alongside that, I perform as King Khayno, using music to connect with people through authentic experiences and emotion.
I’m also the owner of Fat Boi Burgers, which taught me how to build a business from the ground up while balancing creativity and entrepreneurship. What I’m most proud of is turning challenges into opportunities and creating platforms that bring people together, whether it’s through film, music, or business.
What sets me apart is that I don’t wait for opportunities—I create them. I’m hands-on in every project, from developing ideas to bringing them to life, and I’m committed to building something that leaves a lasting impact on both my community and the people I work with.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being understanding! As a leader, you must acknowledge that not everyone will interpret things the same way you do, and they may not even be motivated to see the vision materialize. However, you must understand that the show doesn’t end until you give up.
