Meet Nathan Davila of KKT GSD in Bearcreek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Davila.

Nathan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The name Konkurrenzlos means UNRIVALED.

Our love for German Shepherds began long ago when we had them as family pets. Their gracefulness, loyalty, and companionship is like no other. The breed is strong, yet faithful – and whether for show or for work, German Shepherds are loving.

One of the hardest parts about starting a breeding business was deciding on a name. Our dogs come from a long line of German champion GSDs, and we wanted a name worthy of their history. After much thought and consideration, it came down to how we felt our love for the breed, and the breed itself could best be described – incomparable, having no equal. In honor of the German heritage we chose the German word for unrivaled – Konkurrenzlos.

Long before we established our kennel, we loved our GSDs. I grew up with them by my side. Faithful protectors, loving companions; they were part of our family.

It was this love, our genuine admiration of the TRUE German Shepherd breed; that led to us establishing our Family Kennel; KKT.

So others may experience the love and friendship of these majestic dogs. And in order for the true German Shepherd standard to live on.

It is a dream and passion of mine for our pups to bring healing to those in need through pet therapy and service work. The connection a dog can make with a human is unlike any other. The healing process begins at a neurological level in the brain and continues with the healing of the soul, when that person experiences unconditional love. A full circle of healing. A healing pause.

It is this dream that has led me to our healing initiative. Out of every litter we have begun to work with pet therapy and service dog trainers to donate an on-staff trained therapy dog. Our first service dog ambassador, Izzie, will be going to Gavin Miles. Gavin Miles is known as KYs littlest trooper and Izzie will be going through and individualized service dog training program under Mr. Steve Woods of K911-KY. On Feb 10th I will be flying Izzie to KY to meet Gavin and start her training.

My dream is to bring this healing to Children’s Homes (orphanages), hospitals, retirement communities, individuals and all those in between.

Has it been a smooth road?
Just as in any other business, we have had our mountain tops and valleys. We are a small family kennel. My father handles the day to day, breeding, bathing, exercise, etc. with help from a couple of our team members. I handle all the online presence and public relations. Working with animals brings an entirely different set of possibilities for things to go not as planned. Mother Nature is Mother Nature. With love, determination, perseverance and most importantly God’s favor and grace, we have been blessed at every stage.

Our pups have loving homes , work homes , personal protection homes that they are a part of and that is what matters to us at the end of the day.

We are excited for and welcome what the future holds for us.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the KKT GSD story. Tell us more about the business.
We are German, German Shepherd breeders. We are truly honored and blessed to have the lineages we carry. Our Dams hail from a cornerstone kennel that has helped shape the modern GSD in Germany, aus Wattenscheid. Our sires hail from 3 different lineages all with their own unique beauty and character. Our Sire Sandro’s lineage, vom Hühnegrab, stands as the number one GSD in the world this year.

We are known for our commitment to raising our dogs and pups with love and care. Again, we may not be the biggest, but what we do we do with love. Our customers top comments to us are the: intelligence, temperament, size/color of our pups. You can look in their eyes, the eyes of our sires and Dams and see, feel and connect with their energy and love.

If I have to choose two moments of excellence I would choose, planting the first seed of our therapy dog dream with Izzie and God willing the future of the initiative.

Secondly, would be the amazing week I had personally visiting the home kennels of our Dams and our Sire Usher in Germany. I was welcomed at Annette’s with open arms, good! Food, lots of love and learned so much. I was honored with a team jacket, Team Elbe-Saale-Winkel and the chance to hold one of their winning GSDs inside the ring at the VDH-Austellung in Dortmund (world dog show). It was surreal for me. I also had the honor of spending a few. Hours talking and getting to know the history of our Dams with Herr Waldemar Köber, Jr.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
It is a dream of mine to see one of our pups at The Bunderssieger Zuchtschau (BSZS); the greatest German Shepherd show in the world!

That being said, most importantly I want to see our pups bringing healing to those in need. If I were asked what I want our legacy to be, it would be that. Healing the world. One pup at a time. I will take that over anything else.

I also envision our kennel growing to include training programs from obedience to Schutzhund/IPO. At the moment we work closely with a couple trainers in Houston and help our customers find the right trainer wherever they are. We stand begin our lifetime breeder support guarantee.
