Meet K’Lah Flannel of Cam’s Custom Tees & Accessories in Pearland

Today we’d like to introduce you to K’Lah Flannel.

Thanks for sharing your story with us K’Lah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I worked in Education, as a finance clerk, for 20 years.

In 2016, I started a simple t-shirt business as just a small side hustle for extra income. Three years later, I decided to walk away from my job and pursue my home-based business on a full-time basis.

In that short period of time, I have seen my business grow solely off of “word of mouth” and customer referrals. I believe a huge part of why my business has grown is because I love what I do. I love creating something unique for my customers. I enjoy exceeding their expectations. Much of my business comes from repeat customers, that believe and trust in the work that I do. And it is the trust they have in me that has expanded my products from custom t-shirts to just about anything my customers can think up.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. During the time that I worked a full-time job and only had evenings and weekends to complete orders, I would become completely overwhelmed getting little to no sleep.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cam’s Custom Tees & Accessories story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is selling customized t-shirts/apparel and tumblers, and a wide variety of other craft items.

I am most proud of how my business has grown without the use of heavy marketing. I take pride in the fact that my growth comes specifically from “word of mouth”.

I absolutely love what I do. I put that love in everything I create for my customers. My business is not about the profits I make, but the smiles and joy I provide for my customers.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m not really big on luck, but blessings. And the blessings I have received afforded me, as a mother, to be more available to my children and their needs. Something I was unable to do for 20 years working in the workforce.
