Today we’d like to introduce you to Klark Kent.
Klark, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m just using my everyday fight with depression and anxiety to raise awareness amongst my generation and ones after mine. A lot of times people won’t speak on the issue due to concern about backlash, image & judgment.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never a smooth road always a constant fight but each day is always better than the last because of my understanding of what I’m up against & learning how to live and be a positive light in a dark place.

Progression Thru Expression is a non-profit that I created to raise awareness for depression and social anxiety in the minority community! I’ve always felt due to the way my generation and generations behind me were raised that we were taught to be dismissive of anything emotional especially as a man in today’s world! If you’re sad the response was to pray or get over it or in some cases they’d call you soft.

Friends & family have been my most significant support system. Once I openly admitted and began to speak on social media and publicly about it, my everyday struggles have been way better because now I know I’m not alone. Friends and family have both came to me and told me their stories and struggles with the same thing. Overall knowing that others deal with it is a blessing because it helps you deal with your own fight as well as help others with there’s. It gives you a constant support system!
