Today we’d like to introduce you to Kodi Roberts.
Hi Kodi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Becoming a certified trainer and the owner of CRAVE Fitness is something I never could have imagined as a former version of myself. At my heaviest, I weighed 247 pounds. My son was just 10 months old, and I was still wearing maternity pants. I remember constantly feeling tired, irritable, and defeated. I loved being a mom, but I felt like I had lost myself — and I accepted that this was my new normal.
One day, a good friend told me about a six-week boot camp. I didn’t realize it then, but she saw what I couldn’t — that my life and health were spiraling out of control. With her encouragement, I signed up, determined to get my life back. I pulled tires, held planks, and did sit-ups like my life depended on it. I had to modify almost everything, but I gave it everything I had.
At the end of those six weeks, I stepped on the scale — and hadn’t lost a single pound. In that moment, I realized I had two choices: give up or keep going.
Looking back, I see how unrealistic my expectations were. I was finally moving, but I didn’t have a plan — and I wasn’t addressing the real reasons behind my cravings and overeating. After boot camp, I tried it all: group fitness classes, personal trainers, lunchtime runs, endless hours on the treadmill and elliptical, Weight Watchers, juicing, and every Beachbody program I could find. Eventually, I pushed my body too far and landed in the hospital with Rhabdomyolysis — a life-threatening condition that can lead to kidney failure.
Lying in that hospital bed, I made a decision. I wasn’t going to let this be the end of my story. I had a family that needed me — a healthy me. That moment of self-talk changed everything. I found strength I didn’t know I had, and it became the foundation for the woman I am today.
Today, I’m 100 pounds lighter — and more importantly, stronger in every way. This journey didn’t just transform me physically; it changed me emotionally and spiritually. I named CRAVE Fitness after those powerful cravings that often stand between us and our goals. Understanding my cravings — and the emotional roots behind them — was the key to my healing and success.
Now, I want to help you do the same. Together, we’ll set realistic goals, find what truly motivates you, and create a supportive environment where you feel encouraged and understood. My passion lies in kettlebell and HIIT training, but more than that, it lies in helping women discover their own strength, confidence, and purpose.
If you’re reading this, you have two choices: stay where you are, or step into something new with CRAVE — and start creating a pattern that leads to lasting change.
CRAVE has become so much more than a fitness studio. It’s a platform for transformation — not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We focus on building confidence, faith, and community. Our members are encouraged to serve and give back as they grow stronger themselves.
To further our mission, we established CRAVE Community, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides support for women in need through community-based programs and assistance.
At CRAVE, we don’t just build bodies — we build women. Strong. Confident. Purpose-driven.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been a learning experience! I trust God’s direction and His plan for my purpose in leading the women of CRAVE. This journey has taught me to have unwavering faith — knowing that He will always bring the right women through the doors and equip me with exactly what I need to help them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I own and operate an all-women’s gym called CRAVE Fitness, and what makes it so special is that it’s more than just a place to work out — it’s a place to grow. We focus on helping women strengthen not only their bodies, but also their minds and spirits. CRAVE is designed to be a space where women can connect, find support, and build confidence while also giving back to the community. What I’m most proud of is seeing women walk through our doors and not only transform physically, but truly come alive again. Watching them find their strength, purpose, and joy — that’s what drives me. What sets us apart is our heart for service. We don’t just train; we pour into one another. CRAVE has become a sisterhood that encourages women to grow, heal, and then go out and make an impact. It’s about creating strong women who, in turn, strengthen their community.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about our city is its creativity and uniqueness. There’s so much energy, innovation, and character here. What I like least is the lack of connection and compassion at times. I wish we could see more unity and a sense of community, rather than the mindset that we always have to look out for ourselves.
