Meet Koncept – P

Today we’d like to introduce you to Koncept – P.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Koncept – P. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
I started Producing when I was about 17 or 18 and was really motivated by it. I have been a musician all my life, but when I started producing, I knew this is what I wanted to do as a career. I first began by getting into Ithaca College for audio engineering, once I got a grasp on how to record artists that’s what I did when I came back home for breaks. That’s how I first started to get into studios without having the Producer “Label” yet.

So I basically would just record my friends and stuff for fun at my house during the day, then at night, I would go to my internship at Wire Road Studios where I got to sit in the studio with bigger artists and learn how things worked when it came to chemistry. After a couple of years of doing that, I began to get a name for myself around my area, But it was not until my big break with 6ix9ine’s “KOODA” that helped me get to where I am today.

The Kooda record came to be because 6ix9ine found my music on youtube and decided to use one of my beats, luckily at the time we were both living in Brooklyn and met up in person. Today, I’m back living in Houston still working with some of the industry’s biggest artists such as Young Thug, Tory Lanez, Blocboy JB, Tee Grizzley, Designer and many more.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has been a bumpy road with a lot of setbacks — some bigger than others. But in the end, if you grow from it, then it was not a set back in the first place.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I (Koncept – P) am a music producer and audio engineer. I Am mostly known for records I have produced for certain artists. I am most proud of becoming a 1x Platinum 2x Gold RIAA Certified Producer. What sets me apart from others is that I’m very humble and don’t treat people as if they are any less than me. That’s pretty rare in my industry.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing at all. I’m a big believer in everything happens for a reason and at the time its supposed to happen.
