Meet Kris Rumer of Doctor Drinks Bartending Service

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Rumer.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I initially started off bar tending as a second source of income. To begin, I enrolled myself into the A.B.C. School of Bartending to receive professional training in mixology, alcohol awareness, and customer service. After spending many hours working in clubs, bars, private events, special venues, I decided to collect my knowledge and experience along with some business school education to initiate my own rendition of bartending skills and services to create Doctor Drinks Bartending Services. As the venture continues to grow, I’ve been able to provide services at private, intimate functions to small crowds, large parties, concerts, as well as celebrity clientele.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The hardest part of this business is getting my name out there. Some people refrain from hiring people they are unfamiliar with so many people in this business are hired mostly by “word of mouth” from other clients, but in my, case my work spoke for itself and fortuitously, clients began to reach out to me for services.

Doctor Drinks Bartending Service – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Naturally, I come across all kinds of people and have no issue adapting to my client’s needs. I wish to provide my clients with a customizable experience that is set to their comfort and needs. I also research food and drink trends in able to provide the most current fads and tastes. I am able to create signature drinks and am always willing to learn new recipes. My ultimate goal each time I am hired for an event is to make the host feel like a guest by utilizing my services to ensure the event operations are ran to the client’s expectations with no worries or angst of anything going awry.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is the reward you receive for all your hours and hours of hard work, all the moments you felt like a failure, all the time you’ve questioned yourself and your choices, and every time you’ve had to persevere through all your fears and doubts and still gave it your all and 100% dedication to your passion even while enduring illness or exhaust. Success is the achievement of your dreams because you had the mindset and the heart and most importantly the fortitude to act upon your ideas, no matter what.
