Krista and Kobra, please share your story with us.
We are a family owned luxury studio located in the heart of HTX. We are the only studio to feature the winning combination of yoga, cycle and Pilates. My sister and I love working together and helping people feel their very best. Twelve years ago, I began my weight loss journey and found this low impact combination to do wonders for my body, mind, and spirit. With healthy eating and exercise I lost 70 lbs. And can say first hand that this works! Yoga helped me gain flexibility, Pilates created a strong core and cycle was a great way to get cardio in while being kind to my knees. With Kobra’s 20+ years of experience in the hospitality industry, she is sure to greet you with a warm smile and make everyone who walks in feel special. Our goal was to create a beautiful space where everybody feels welcome and well taken care of.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any small business experiences challenges, but knowing I had my sister by side made the bumps in the road just a little less bumpy! Our biggest challenge had been getting the word out about STRETCH. We have truly built this studio from the ground up as we are not a chain or franchise. There is only one STRETCH studio and it is run by two sisters who care deeply about people and their experience.
Please tell us about STRETCH Studio.
Small class sizes are a cornerstone at STRETCH. We give everyone individual attention in order to help them get the most out of every session. We are also the only studio in Houston to feature private rooms for yoga & Pilates. Whether you have very specific goals in mind or prefer a more private setting, private sessions are available. All of our instructors are certified by the best in the industry and each one is passionate about teaching, friendly and cares about your experience. You will not be overlooked at STRETCH. We are also the only ones in Houston to feature the equipment that we have. We are passionate about showing everyone who walks through the door what makes us different. We hand-picked every single element in the studio with the client in mind. For your convenience we offer a private gated parking lot. Our goal was to create a spa-like studio that is beautiful and functional.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As children are often asked “what do you want to do when you grow up?” Our answers never wavered; we always responded with “I’ll be working alongside my sister no matter what I do.” Working side by side every day to build something we firmly believe in and are so passionate about has been such a blessing.
