Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Martinez.
Kristin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The concept of Sarai’s Mirror stems from my life experience. Throughout most of my life, I tried to live up to unrealistic expectations, not realizing my own worth and compromising my beliefs and core values. Although we are never fully free from doubt about ourselves and the daily struggles of life, once I learned how to apply simple biblical truths and embrace the woman that God created me to be, I felt a great sense of peace. I knew that this was something that needed to be shared with other women. I don’t claim to be completely free from self-doubt and I share my story in hopes that it will help others know that we are loved by God unconditionally no matter what.
Has it been a smooth road?
Creating any organization can be a challenge, it certainly hasn’t been easy for me. I appreciate the struggles because I believe that each one of them has allowed the opportunity for personal growth in many areas and be better equipped at helping others. Besides prayer and guidance from God, great support from family and friends have been the key to our growth and success. Since we do not sell goods, but offer specialized services, it’s sometimes difficult to find a way to market just what we do.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Sarai’s Mirror, launched in April 2014 is an organization created to help and encourage women realize their true worth and value, Far too often, we seek affirmations from others and many times base our value on outward appearances and fluctuating circumstances. Today more than ever, there are many negative influences which imply that in order to be accepted, we must look a certain way. Most women in our society have a distorted view of themselves when they look into a mirror.
Our mission is to encourage and empower women to discover their true sense of worth through a deeper understanding of God’s grace, love and power. We offer workshops, speaking engagements and individual coaching. Our organization is based on biblical principles and operates from a strong base of faith. We will never waver away from that foundation of the Christian faith. I enjoy encouraging others and strive to walk along with someone who is struggling. I don’t want to just give advice, but truly listen to what the audience is saying and give them tools to help in going forward.
