Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Anderson.
Hi Kristina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My partner has his degree in cinematography and he would take me to car meets with him while he filmed and one day he gave me his photography camera to shoot for fun and the rest is history. He taught me how to use the camera, about composition and lighting, and after several years of shooting cars he pushed me to learn off camera flash and how to shoot models. He’s been my greatest supporter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It got to a point where I was too afraid to tell my repeat clients that needed to raise my prices and I ended up quitting for a couple years. Then I ended up getting pregnant and Of course I’m going to document our baby’s childhood so I picked my camera back up. While most of my photography these days is of my son and my friends families I do enjoy being asked to shoot models and events because I truly enjoy it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I enjoy in home family sessions more than anything. I love knowing the photos I take will be more than just an Instagram post. I love knowing a mom will be looking at my photos with tears in her eyes years from now.
What’s next?
My son is getting older and it’s given me a little more freedom. I would love to schedule more weekend shoots in the coming months.
Pricing:
- I typically charge $250 for an hour long session for families, maternity, seniors etc.
- I do quince portrait sessions and elopements as well.
