Meet Lacy Magee of The Katy Dog Walkers in Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacy Magee.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lacy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Lacy and I’m the owner, operator and dog walker for The Katy Dog Walkers. I’m engaged to a wonderful man named Marko who sometimes helps out with visits. We have 3 things in common, pets, travel and food. He is from Croatia and I am born and raised in Texas. I’ve been an animal lover my entire life. I grew up with all sorts of pets including dogs, cats, fish & birds.

As a kid instead of playing with Barbies, I played with their pets. I felt it was my duty to bring in all the stray animals I came across. My mom was not too thrilled about that. My love for animals comes naturally as they are interesting, intelligent and unconditional lovers. I knew from day one that whatever I wanted to be “when I grew up” had to involve animals.

In 2012 I became a full-time pet sitter for four years in Katy TX for one of the most respectable companies around. I absolutely loved every moment of my job and took pride in what I did. We made the decision to move to Washington summer of 2016. It was hard to leave all my beloved clients behind but this was my chance to combine my experience and passion for animals into my own investment.

I owned and operated my own successful pet sitting company in Washington for a year. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to make the move back to Katy. From there The Katy Dog Walkers was founded.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far so good, besides Harvey putting a lot of people out of work. It took awhile for most of us to get back on track. As of on the job struggles, every now and then we will come across an extremely timid dog that takes some time to build trust with. We always win them over though!

The Katy Dog Walkers is specialized in weekly, on-going dog walks for an affordable price. Pet sitting and pet taxi services are also offered. There’s a couple of large app companies that will send random or flaky walkers to your home.

As a pet owner, I’m very uncomfortable with that idea. That will never happen with The Katy Dog Walkers as our walkers are loyal and experienced. What sets us apart from others is that we provide outstanding customer service, reliability, hassle-free service, daily updates and top of the line software to ensure your information is secure.
