Today we’d like to introduce you to Lanora.
Hi Lanora, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2016, while working for a heart doctor, I started having heart problems of my own. I didn’t know it then, but God was already shifting my path. In 2017, I received my very first camera… and that simple gift planted a seed I never imagined would grow the way it has.
In 2018, I took a leap of faith and stepped into photography full-time. I started in my little kitchen where an 8×8 backdrop stand was all that could fit. That tiny space became the birthplace of a dream. Later that same year, God opened the door to my very first studio.
By 2020, I was offered another space — triple the size — and from 2020 to 2025 I poured every ounce of myself into growing, learning, and establishing my business. Then in 2024, an unexpected opportunity opened in the heart of our downtown district in Bay City, TX. It was smaller, but the vision and potential were bigger. So in February 2025, I stepped out once again and relocated to my current downtown studio.
All of this… while being a single mom.
By the grace of God, I have managed to maintain a studio, keep up with personal bills, and raise four amazing children — one currently in college, two juniors, and one in 5th grade. Every victory, every door, every step… He has carried us through.
From 2020 to 2025, I’ve been nominated five years in a row as Favorite Photographer. I’ve been published in ten magazines and even nominated as a cover artist.
What started as a tiny dream in my kitchen has turned into a calling — one that has blessed me more than I could ever express.
🙏📸 Thank you to every single person who has supported God’s Creations Photography. Your trust, your loyalty, your belief in my gift… it means everything. And this is only the beginning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In 2018, I faced one of the hardest setbacks of my career. I lost over $4,000 worth of galleries — including three weddings, one quinceañera, and two major football links. I was devastated. I cried. I questioned everything. But I didn’t quit. God didn’t bring me this far to leave me, and even through that storm, He kept me standing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in portrait photography, including seniors, quinceañeras, maternity, newborns, families, engagements, birthday shoots, and lifestyle sessions. I am known for my warm tones, emotional storytelling, attention to detail, and my ability to make clients feel comfortable, beautiful, and truly seen in front of the camera. My work reflects authenticity, creativity, and the belief that every session deserves to feel like a moment, not just a photoshoot.
What sets me apart is the heart behind my brand. As a single mom raising four children while building this business from nothing, I understand the value of trust, loyalty, and hard work. Every client who walks through my doors is treated with the same care, patience, and passion I would want for my own family. I don’t just take pictures — I create experiences and preserve memories that families will cherish for generations.
Brand-wise, I am most proud of the connection I build with my clients, my consistency, and the reputation I’ve grown over the years. I’ve been nominated five years in a row (2020–2025) as Favorite Photographer, published in 10 magazines, and nominated as a cover artist. But what means the most to me is the support from my community and the trust families place in me year after year.
What I want readers to know is that God’s Creations Photography is rooted in purpose. Whether it’s a birthday celebration, a newborn session, a quinceañera, or a simple family portrait, I pour my heart into every detail. My goal is to make every client feel confident, valued, and celebrated — because their story matters, and I’m honored to capture it.
If you’re looking for someone who cares just as much about your moments as you do, who brings professionalism with heart, and who creates with passion, then I would love to be part of your memories.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson is for sure to have multiple backup drives, contracts, the wording, and always cover myself
