Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashante Days.
Lashante, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a child, I would always want my hair done but my mom couldn’t afford to get it done so this inspired me to start doing my own hair. As I got older I got my first job working as a shampoo assistant with Tammy Stone at Escape Beauty Salon. She showed me the proper way to prepare clientele for service, from Shampooing hair to deep conditioning hair. I learned all the Foundational hair care practices from Ms. Tammy.
It was during this phase in life that my mom then ignited my drive to be a trailblazer in this field when she told me that, “my gift was in my hands.” In fact, my mom was the first person to see my gift, so much so, that she put together a booklet detailing the vision for my future Hair Salon.
My mother also noticed my talent for drawing and decorating. I have always liked to make things look beautiful so creativity has always been in my hands. So in high school, I started to do the hair of different people that were close to me- from my grandma to cousins and people at my school.
After high school, I didn’t have a high school Diploma or a G.E.D and I really didn’t have the money to go to Hair School. Somehow God worked it out that I made it into Savannah School of Cosmetology and through the Process of staying focused and persistent, I graduated in 2008!
I had the opportunity of my first booth rental at Red Robin Salon, were the owner Robin Shepherd allowed me to have my own station in her salon. This Opportunity was Exciting for me at the time, but I was still determined and always striving to open my own Hair Salon Business. The struggle came full force when I took the Cosmetology Exam three times before Finally Passing it. My husband (Frank Days) encouraged me the more and through the teachings of Apostle Law (The Embassy Church) I became and Entrepreneur and opened my own Hair Salon.
So on January 1st, 2016 my Dream came true and I had the Grand Opening of my very First salon (Salon Elite).
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would advise anybody that the road to success and purpose is never easy. I ran into many different complications from my own negative thoughts, sewage fees, plumbing fees, ventilation requirements and inspections of the place and this weight was almost unbearable! I could of given up at any moment but I kept going because I knew God wanted me to do this – I was too close to stop. Believed in the vision for my life, everything came together for me to keep going.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Salon Elite – what should we know?

I love that my salon is my family. I even pick up my older clients and drop them off -this a form of me helping the greater community.
God has given me my salon as a platform to encouraged people and sometimes get encouraged myself right when I need it. At Salon Elite, we share what’s going on in our lives and find encouragement to go on.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Frank Days – my amazing husband, my family, and my Church Community (The Embassy Church)! The Embassy (Apostle Kenneth Law and Lawanda Law) has been my inspiration to believe in myself and my dream to open Salon Elite and Beyond. In fact, my biggest cheerleader is my Husband, Frank Days. He has the gift of being able to see me being able to accomplish something when I don’t believe I can.
The memory of my grandfather, Natheniel C. Glover, keeps me inspired to inspire others daily. My grandfather was an entrepreneur. I saw the impact of his life and how he used his gifts to make life better for his family. He built an inheritance with his life. He owned a moving company, a night club, a grocery store and purchased three homes. I was inspired by him growing up. So much so that I am now building a legacy with my husband-like my grandfather did with his wife Izetta Glover (grandmother).
