Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShasta Bell.
LaShasta, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I believe my start came well before I realized it. As far back as high school, I can remember others coming to me for help. I was often baffle for I felt as though I had my own problems which in my mind made me unqualified to help. Little did I know the life experiences aka problems would one day have great purpose. After 3 years as a special education teacher, I went into school counseling to make a bigger impact. The more I worked with students, teacher and administrators the more I realized the impact I was making could be increased by working with parents. At that point, I decided to pursue my LPC licensure. For 3 years, I worked as a full time school counselor and part time therapist in my own practice. With support of family, friends, and colleagues, was able to transition to full time in my practice. For the last 2 years, I have enjoyed working full time as a therapist and now life coach.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
John Burroughs stated, “For anything worth having one must pay the price; and the price is always work, patience, love self-sacrifice….” I have paid the price in these ways and more. It has not been a smooth road but I would not give back any parts of my journey. The struggle that stands out the most would be learning and understanding the process of becoming a provider for various insurance companies and billing said companies for services rendered.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about LaShasta Bell, LPC-S – what should we know?
“Counseling helps you heal, coaching helps you live.” I provide support for healing and living. I am known for counseling individuals and couples with anxiety, depression, interpersonal and intrapersonal issues. As a life coach I support professionals experiencing identity theft in an intimate relationship. Customized plans for behavioral consults, speaking and training are also
As a company, I am most proud of our seamless intake process and quick response time. Be personable and accessible. I believe what I am most proud of is also what sets us apart from others.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I give ALL credit to my creator, God. He strategically placed and provided all things and people I needed to get to where I am now. Next I must honor my mother as she was the one who taught me (by modeling) the meaning of perseverance, faith, and hard work. My husband and son deserve an award for their patience, flexibility and encouragement with and for me. My best friend and the countless conversations which provided an outlet and inlet, my prayer group that doubled as editors and advisors in the early stages. There are many others that have provided prayer, encouragement, networking opportunities and so much more.
