Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTorria Lemon.
LaTorria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I initially started my journey in the acting world when I was four years old. Through acting, I was featured in commercials, short films, touring stage plays, and apart of award-winning productions. My love for theater and the arts led me into pageants and radio.
At the age of 16, I became the youngest on-air personality in Houston Texas where I had a daily segment of KCOH AM with the legendary Ralph Cooper. Upon entering college, my goal was to be a nationally syndicated radio personality, but after a couple of semesters at Clark Atlanta University, and an internship that turned into a job in Public Relations (PR), my goals shifted. I found a new desire for making things happen behind the scenes with PR.
After graduating with a B.S in Public Relations Management from Clark Atlanta University, I explored PR full time which eventually propelled me to start a small boutique PR agency in Atlanta. The road was not easy, and I actually gave up several times and shifted my mood to anything that was non-PR related.
In 2013, I moved back to Houston and neglected everything about Lemon-Lime Light Media. I had a hard time finding a job, so I start working at a local beauty supply until one day, someone walked in and threatened me while they stole tons of products.
At that moment, I realized I wasn’t living my purpose. Many tears, many talks to God, and many days of preparing my mind for better led me to refocus on Lemon-Lime Light Media.
Has it been a smooth road?
My road has not been smooth at all. I recently informed my social media followers that it’s wise for people to become more transparent about their stories. I have had times where I quit, gave up, and wondered why I ever chose this path.
The long days, long nights, unseen work, and sacrifices can be a lot to handle times, but it has built character and allowed me to be apart of amazing visions that come to light. I want to send a special shout-out to EVERY publicist in the world. We don’t always get the love that we deserve, but I’m grateful for each you.
In the midst of overcoming my struggles, I always like to make sure I am surrounded by people that can lift me up when I’m drained, or that can just send a simple prayer up for me. To me, those things are important despite what industry you are in.

I am the owner of Lemon-Lime Light Media where we specialize in PR, Event Activation, Branding, and Consulting. We are the people that work behind the scenes to make everything in front of the scenes look beautiful. In August 2018, we celebrated seven years in business.
I am so proud of this company and my team for always pushing through. I remember praying to God and asking him to bless me with people who are humble, graceful, hard-working, and ready to go to the levels that he has in his plans… I am not disappointed at all.
Within the past seven years, we have worked on over 15 tours, national campaigns for various corporate companies and entertainers, executed star-studded red carpets around the world, and so much more. I am forever blessed to have amazing clients, mentors, and support.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Houston is a great place that is growing within many industries. PR is a field that will never die as it is so broad. There are so many different types of PR, but my niche happens to be entertainment, beauty/fashion, and faith-based.
Although the Lemon-Lime Light Media teams operate in Atlanta and Houston, I’m based in Houston which makes me excited. I’m a 100% Houstonian, and I’m excited about the future of our City. Our wonderful mayor, Mayor Turner is doing some great things to highlight the talents of this city.
