Today we’d like to introduce you to Lena Phong.
Lena, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I graduated high school, I really started thinking about stuff that I’m passionate about and how to make that into a very successful career. Modeling has always been one of my passions to taking photos, to posing, to wearing all the crazy cool chic outfits. I loved every part of it. I started researching all these agencies, searching how all these models got discovered. I would watch countless videos of fashions shows in Paris and Milan. I was just so fascinated by it all! So, I signed a contract with Neal Hamil agency in Houston in 2017 and I’ve been with them ever since. Hoping to broaden my horizons very soon.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a very good learning experience. Learning that you’re not going to get a every job, doesn’t mean you’re a bad model, it just wasn’t the job for you. And learning to be ok with that! Self-love and confidence are very important in this industry.
Lena Phong – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a model. Houston based. I’ve done many different shoots commercial and editorial. My true passion and hope are to a very successful high fashion model. I want to set myself apart from others by not just being a pretty face. You also have to have a good heart, be kind and nice, and smart! Beauty can only get you so far.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood is every single Christmas I’ve ever heard! My parents always made Christmas so special for us. We would have Christmas Eve parties with all my cousins and all these presents. It truly is the best time of the year!
