Today we’d like to introduce you to Lenette “Gigi” Roehl.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my Original Shop in Yakima, Washington January of 2006 and closed it February 2016. I had always wanted to be part of the complete hustle and bustle of Texas. So here I am!My shop, located at 503 A Houston Street in Rosenberg is filled with all the things that I love. I mix the old with the new, special things, things that will speak to you, a nudge of a memory, a smile.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not a smooth road! lol! Where do I start! My biggest struggle is the challenge to find my place here, where do I belong and who am I again, I originally came to Texas for love, he left me, so, my struggles have been many, the weather, finding my way around, not having any family here, working countless hours to keep my shop intact and magical as always. I push on and on, a bump in my road but a wonderful detour to be in Rosenberg, as Garden Girl of Texas, and I’m still smiling, blessed and grateful. It’s not about me, I love people, I love making people happy, I’m where I’m supposed to be.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Garden Girl of Texas – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Garden Girl of Texas is a girl who Landscapes, she does wedding florals, she loves to create outdoor living spaces, planting pots for your decks and patios. In her shop is salts for cooking, beautiful French Inspired gifts and soaps.
My shop is full of very whimsical things with the details you wouldn’t expect. I want to create traditions and memories for families, my visions and goals for the growth of my shop are over the top and my attention to detail is what I am most proud of.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I add a new product to my shop weekly, I will continue to add more spices and salts, my biggest goal is to complete my “candy bar” Big Luscious Glamorous Jars filled with old school candies and caramels, another French Linen company with some of the most amazing laundering products. My shop I want to be very “Marketish”.
