Today we’d like to introduce you to Lester, Pamela, Tamela, and James Brooks.
Lester, Pamela, Tamela, and James, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2010, two friends were talking about opening up a driving school for teens. The friend’s wives were ready to assist in this endeavor by taking care of the things we know men overlook or don’t have patience with such as paperwork, deadlines, license renewal… one wife, Pamela, began moving the process along by creating a name and getting a DBA with all participants involved. Shortly afterwards, Mr. Brooks and I began Phase I of III in Sugar Land, Texas. Later, I continued Phase II and III of the process alone with going through a minor sickness.
April 2012, I was ready to open up our driving school with me as the instructor and driver. I hired a young lady to take care of the business side and off we went to a new business in the city of Crosby. Now, we are servicing the North Shore, C.E King and Crosby areas for classes and 50+ mile radius for the DPS driving test.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Anything good is never a smooth road. Our journey from training to the opening of our school with students was an 18-month ride. As the first instructor of the school, I would travel daily leaving Crosby, Texas at 3 pm preparing to arrive in Sugar Land, Texas for a 5:30 – 9:30 class. After many months of travel and training, I was able to open up our school in April 2012 with classes ranging from 20-25 students. Our classes were fun however, our procedure in scheduling drive times was not. Students would say that they scheduled a drive, wouldn’t show up or denied scheduling or canceling. It was a nightmare. Now, we have adopted a program that we have been using which students have to schedule or cancel drives as well as keeping up with the 30 hour drives the parents must complete with their child. Our struggles have created opportunities for us to grow in all areas.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Amazing A+ Driving School – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are constantly wanting to make changes to increase our exposure.
