Meet Levi Rosen of Photography by Levi Rosen and LSR Visual Arts and Design in League City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Levi Rosen.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Levi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a creative person since the day I found out crayons are not just a dietary supplement. When I was three, my brother was taking after-school art lessons. After dropping him off my mom was ready to go, but I wasn’t. Holding on to the door frame like my life depended on it, the teacher told my mom, I need to be signed up and she will waive the age requirement for me. So I guess you can say that is my origin story if I was a superhero, not as exciting as a radioactive spider biting you but shows my dedication.

LSR Visual Arts and Design has been my business since I graduated high school eighteen years ago and I have always had the drive to create art. After completing my bachelor of fine art degree from UHCL I was able to focus completely on my two businesses, Photography by Levi Rosen and LSR Visual Arts and Design and that’s where I am now. My client list is increasing day by day.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh no, not at all. The drive was always with me, but life and being able to eat got in the way more often than not. When you do the work I do, it takes a while to build up clients and a steady income so for the most of my career its feast or famine and now that I have a family the famine part cannot happen for them. There have been many side roads I’ve had to walk, such as retail, barista, jeweler (not as nice as it sounds) but the main road I always make my back to, has been graphic arts and photography.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Photography by Levi Rosen and LSR Visual Arts and Design story. Tell us more about the business.
Photography by Levi Rosen focuses on portrait and event photography, such as weddings, engagements, birthdays, PR Headshots, family, grads, etc. But I am willing to take on any project that you can throw at me. I think I am known for the way I can capture candid moments and get people to relax around my camera to get the best shot possible. It usually works out that I make friends with my clients just out of happenstance and my personality. I am most proud of being able to make people happy with what I do, this even goes as far as setting up a non-profit called Texas Photo Renovators to restore photos damaged by the recent hurricanes. Go check it out www.texasphotorenovators.com and feel free to pass it on to anyone who would need our help, it’s a free service.

LSR Visual Arts and Design specialize in logo design, company branding, print collateral and web design (mainly front end, but working on my programming skills). I can also create illustrations, PR/stock photography, storyboard and concept art. What sets me apart is my ability to take the ideas my clients give me and turn their imagination into reality, with the uncanny accuracy I hear. Fast turn around and attention to the details are also very important to me. Under promise and over deliver is my motto.

I am proud that I am able to do what I love for a living and to share my talent with so many wonderful people.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
No luck at all. It has taken kindness from others, timing, causality and serendipity, but no luck. Hard work pays off, wishing for luck never does.
