Today we’d like to introduce you to Lillian Walcott.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
My journey in photography started as a momtographer, a mom who takes excessive photos of her kids. After friends and family members contacted me numerous times asking if I am a photographer, I decided to invest into becoming a professional photographer (part-time) by completing photography workshops and classes.
During the week, I am a project safety engineer. Yes, photography and engineering are two different professions, however, I love learning and being challenged.
Please tell us about your art.
I am a natural light professional photographer who specializes in children, maternity, and family photography. I adore rich and vibrant colors. The vibrancy in my photos reflects my personality. I am always smiling. When I attended college, my mentor called me “smiley” because I was always smiling.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
Success is when I look at my final edit and smile because I was able to bring my initial vision to reality.
