Meet Lindsay Gattis of Keystone Resources in Galleria Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Gattis.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had a passion for telling a story. Even before I graduated college, I moved to NYC, on my own, to try my hand at being a freelance photographer. Well, a picture is worth 1000 words, but it doesn’t always make it easy to make a living. So, I moved back to Texas and graduated from Texas State University with my Bachelors in Communication Design. I loved learning how to get a concept across in creative ways. I loved learning how to read between the lines of what someone says, in order to deliver something that surpasses everything they ever imagined. I loved how cerebral it all was.

I started my own graphic design company and through my work with my client’s there, I realized Marketing was where my true passion lie. I’ve always had an interest in profiling (and even wanted to work with the FBI at Quantico for criminal profiling) but quickly discovered that what I do with marketing and design is profiling – for businesses. We look at the target audience, purchasing behaviors, psychographics, etc. But I also learned that being part of a company like Keystone Resources, allowed me to make a difference in ways that I wasn’t able on my own. As such, I joined Keystone Resources full-time in 2016.

Now, as Marketing Director, I’m able to focus on the strategy and management while my phenomenal production team takes the vision to even greater heights. It’s collaboration at its finest. With this group of people, nothing is unattainable and I couldn’t be prouder to call them co-workers, teammates, and friends.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a freelancer, I wasn’t always quite sure where I fit in with my client’s vision. Sometimes I held back ideas and solutions because I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. But I quickly learned, that wasn’t going to get me anywhere. The more I spoke up, the more value I was able to provide. And that only grew when I joined Keystone Resources. Because I have the right people with me, we’re able to provide more value to clients across multiple industries. It’s an exciting thing to be a part of!

Additionally, when our company was acquired this past summer, that presented its own set of challenges but also growth opportunities. I had never been through something like that before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Tina Nguyen, our current owner, has been extremely supportive throughout the entire process and she had a much larger vision for Keystone Resources. We’re now more than just design or marketing. We have in-house printing, we expanded our marketing and design capabilities, and we’re truly a turn-key solution for our clients. Now the challenge becomes getting all the talent, resources, and education we have collectively as our small but mighty team, and putting it into a package that shows the client just what all we can do for them.

Keystone Resources – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Keystone Resources is a full-service creative marketing agency that has been in business for 15 years and can truly call ourselves a client-centric turn-key company. We exist in order to support the marketing efforts of our clients. We pride ourselves on helping our clients achieve their goals and grow. Every single person in our company has one driving force – we all want to make remarkable things happen.

We create integrated marketing campaigns utilizing digital and print channels that focus on ROI for our client. We do things in-house that people don’t have the resources to create. By outsourcing strategy and execution to us, they’re able to focus on what they do best and still reap the benefits of having the support of an in-house marketing team. That’s part of what makes Keystone Resources unique. There are a lot of agencies out there that creative design and develop digital marketing strategies. But we’ve been able to connect with our clients to show them how to do all these things in alignment with their goals. And then we prove our worth by driving ROI at every step of the process. That’s what sets us apart.

We aren’t afraid to have the tough conversations. We don’t do what’s’ easy, we do what’s necessary.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Currently, I define success as being able to show a client how my team and I made a difference in their business. Hitting key performance indicators is fantastic, but the client needs to feel the tangible difference to their livelihood. I had one client email me and say, “Wow! This has been a record-breaking last two months for my practice.” That is when I knew that what I do every day was worth it. I want to live my life always knowing that I’m making a difference in my life and others. If I can do that, I’ll consider it a success.
