Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Berntsen, Kristin Ellingsen, and Lauren Doolittle.
Lindsey, Kristin, and Lauren, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Interestingly, we each chose a helping profession and we LOVE what we do. This passion intensified after having our own children; it ignited a joy for sharing tips, research, and knowledge about development and PLAY with others. Teaming up as sisters was natural. We often asked each other questions regarding development about our own children and bounced ideas off of one another about play activities that we could do to promote speech/language, gross motor and fine motor development. Being able to share that with others is really rewarding.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been a smooth and fun road for us. Creating activities and posting to Instagram can be somewhat time-consuming but sharing the responsibility among the three of us helps make it workable.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are Kristin, Lauren, and Lindsey, a sister trio who work in sister fields: Pediatric Occupational Therapy, Audiology, and Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology, respectively. We have a total of 5 children among us and we love to post play activities for our followers that promote development in our areas of expertise. Joining Everdaybabyplay and Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook has allowed us to stay connected and has also enabled us to share our knowledge around the world! We have followers all over the globe, including Europe, Asia, and Australia. It feels good to know that we are helping to foster development for children that extends outside of where we live. Similarly, it’s been so amazing to connect with like-minded people right here in Houston. We’ve connected with some wonderful accounts that are doing an amazing job of bringing valuable content to families in Houston.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We love that Houston is family orientated. There are many activities geared toward child development, from museums, zoos, farms, aquariums, indoor/outdoor play areas to classes, activities, and outdoor green spaces, the options seem endless.
The only negative about Houston (besides the summer heat) is, that because it is very spread out, it is not a very walkable city.
