Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Lin.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Taiwan and moved to America alone after college to pursue my “American Dream”. I established roots in Houston and then made my way to Los Angeles, California, where I was able to gain experience in the accounting world for three years. In the accounting industry, I worked endless hours encountered my share of tears, frustration, and hard work without any regard. Experiencing such an environment made me feel as though there was something more. There had to be more. I began my search to find a home for my talent. During my time in Los Angeles, I discovered my love and passion for all things aesthetic, through art. Against my parent’s wishes, I embarked on a journey of nail art and I have not looked back since. In the beauty industry, however, one good manicure and the heartfelt appreciation and gratitude is tangible! “The Look” is what I strive for every day. The look of confidence on a client’s face.
The look of self-love and care. Feeling their best! They say if you love what you do, you’ll never “work” a day in you’re life. I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to experience a life that transforms others and sparks happiness in my own. I am finally home again and ready to take Houston by storm. I have expanded my skill-set and range to service clients in need of micro-blading and lashes. My growing interest and need for growth have helped me to expand my knowledge and business portfolio. Working with some of the top spas in Houston gave me the motivation to open my own studio in the Summer of 2016. Through the constant support of my clients, my desire for growth, and fearless nature when adversity reveals itself, I feel that the “American Dream” and my future in the beauty business is obtainable.
Has it been a smooth road?
Migrating to United States was one of the most difficult thing that I had to do in my life. I am extremely close to my family, which made it difficult to accept the fact that I would no longer have emotional and financial support. Without guidance and support, I knew that adjustments and changes were needed to successfully survive a new world. Independence became the focus and determination would be the only way to accomplish my goals.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lin’s Studio – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
Lin’s Studio was born in the Summer of 2016. We specialize in organic nail services, lash extensions and lifts, and micro-blading/brow design. Soon the business will add semi-permanent make-up to our list of services. All of our nail products are organic, natural and toxic-free, UV-light free, with a 5-minute dry time and 14-day chip-free wear. Both manicures and pedicures are high in customer satisfaction and have become very popular with our polish. Jill is certified through “David Brow Art” the creator of 6D brows, and the world’s leading semi-permanent makeup artist and brow designer. David invited Jill to join his team of master brow artists as a trainer, but Jill’s heart belongs to her clients here in Houston. Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston is known as one of the most diverse cities in America. A city with colorful culture and a cosmopolitan feel and vibe. Houston is a city full of energy, possibility, and opportunities. If you dare to dream big, Houston dares to give you all of the success that you desire. I hate nothing about Houston, but if I had to pick, I would.
