Meet Luis Guevara of All Pro’s Barbershop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luis Guevara.

Hi Luis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
One day I looked at my life and reflected. My mom worked two jobs, and my dad worked long shifts. I wanted to make a difference and pave a new path for my family. Growing up, that became my motivation.

My parents didn’t have much, and sometimes it was hard to even ask for money to get a haircut. I had to wait until there was a little extra to get one. Eventually, I started learning how to edge myself up so I wouldn’t need haircuts as often.

Everywhere I went as a kid, I noticed people’s hair and style — it always caught my attention. When people started asking who cut my hair, I told them I did it myself. Soon, people in my neighborhood began asking me to give them an edge-up. From there, I kept learning and eventually started doing full haircuts.

I was 14 when I started cutting hair. After eight years of hard work and saving money, I finally opened my own barbershop. As of last month, I’ve been open for eight years.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I never had any experience working at a barbershop, so once I opened mine, it was a long learning process. Everything was new to me, and I had to learn not only how to be part of a barbershop, but also how to manage employees and run a business.

As you know, we’re big fans of All Pro’s Barbershop. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At All Pros Barbershop, we focus on more than just haircuts — we’re about creating confidence and building community. While many businesses may use similar methods today, what truly sets us apart is our consistency, dedication, and hands-on approach. I believe in being present every day, staying involved with both my team and our clients, and making sure every person who walks through our doors leaves feeling their best.

What sets us apart is our “never say no” mindset. We go above and beyond to make it happen for our clients, no matter the request. That level of commitment has helped us build strong relationships and trust with our community. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve earned.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out is simple — don’t focus on the money. Focus on the passion that drives you. Whatever field you’re in, if it truly burns inside you, that fire will push you through every challenge and lead you to success.

When I first started, I wish I had known that success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, consistency, and patience. There will be days when things don’t go as planned, but if you stay focused on your purpose and keep showing up, it will all pay off.
