Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsey Brantley.
Hi Lyndsey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the aesthetics industry began in a completely different field. I originally worked as a structural engineer, but my path changed after I began experiencing persistent skin issues related to PCOS. Going through that personally made me realize how deeply skin health affects confidence, self-image, and overall quality of life. I was searching for real solutions, but I often felt overlooked, misunderstood, or given one-size-fits-all answers—especially as a woman with melanated skin.
That experience became the catalyst for a major life shift. I transitioned into the aesthetics industry, driven by a desire to truly understand the skin and provide results-based care rooted in science, education, and compassion. What started as a personal healing journey quickly became a calling to help others feel confident, informed, and empowered in their skin.
I went on to open Camellia Alise Spa, intentionally building it as a space where advanced technology, corrective treatments, and wellness intersect. The spa grew into a trusted destination known for treating complex skin concerns, laser treatments, and effective holistic wellness treatments for all skin tones. As the business expanded, I naturally stepped into leadership, mentorship, and education, training professionals, and sharing the realities of what it takes to build a sustainable, successful practice.
Through years of hands-on experience, I recognized a major gap in the industry—particularly in laser education. Too often, training lacked inclusivity, depth, and real-world preparation, especially when it came to treating diverse skin types safely and confidently. That realization led to the launch of the International Laser Institute, which will launch this month.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Transitioning from a stable engineering career into entrepreneurship meant starting over in many ways—financially, professionally, and emotionally. I faced the steep learning curve of mastering a new industry while also navigating personal health challenges, self-doubt, and the pressure to prove myself in spaces where I didn’t always see people who looked like me or shared my experiences.
As my business grew, the challenges evolved. Scaling a spa, leading a team, and introducing advanced treatments like laser came with real risks, responsibility, and moments of uncertainty. I also saw firsthand how gaps in education—especially around treating diverse skin tones safely—could limit both client outcomes and professional confidence. Those struggles ultimately shaped my resilience and clarified my purpose, pushing me to build solutions that are more inclusive, intentional, and grounded in real-world experience.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Camellia Alise Spa is more than a med spa—it is a full wellness retreat designed for deep restoration, transformation, and results. Guests don’t simply come in for a single service and leave; they step into an immersive experience that includes luxury amenities such as our infrared sauna, oxygen lounge, and dedicated relaxation spaces. Whether clients are visiting for body care, detox services, laser treatments, massage, or skin therapies, each visit is designed to support the nervous system, reduce stress, and encourage true healing. This holistic, retreat-style approach creates an experience that goes far beyond what’s typically available in traditional spa settings.
What sets Camellia Alise apart is the breadth and depth of our offerings combined with unmatched expertise. We specialize in advanced laser treatments, body contouring and detox therapies, corrective skin services, and wellness-focused modalities that work together—not in isolation. Every service is personalized and rooted in science, with a strong emphasis on safety, inclusivity, and long-term results for all skin tones and body types. My background in engineering brings a systems-based approach to protocols and outcomes, while my personal health and skin journey ensures care is intentional, compassionate, and deeply client-centered.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Camellia Alise has become known as a place of trust, education, and elevated care. Clients book with us because they feel fully supported—never rushed—and because the experience is thoughtful from start to finish. With the launch of the International Laser Institute, we are extending that same standard of excellence into professional education, helping raise the bar across the industry. I want readers to know that Camellia Alise is where luxury meets purpose—offering an experience, level of care, and expertise that truly cannot be replicated elsewhere.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is taking apart my mom’s VCR when I was just 8 years old. I was fascinated by how it worked and couldn’t resist the urge to see what was inside. That moment captures the curiosity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving mindset that showed up very early in my life.
Looking back, it’s a perfect reflection of who I am today. That same drive to understand systems, troubleshoot challenges, and improve how things function is what led me into engineering and later shaped how I approach aesthetics, wellness, and business. It’s a reminder that the skills that define us as adults often show up long before we realize what they’ll become.
