Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Hoang
Hi Lynn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been a fitness trainer for over 19 years and an athlete my entire life. Many athletes would come to me with shoulder pain or injuries, and as a trainer, I couldn’t provide any hands-on relief. I wanted them to keep moving just as much as they didn’t want to stop doing what they loved.
I believe movement is medicine, and pain-free, functional movement is the best medicine. As someone who is active across many sports and is also prone to a sprain/strain from time-to-time, I experienced firsthand the healing power of holistic chiropractic care. That experience became the catalyst for me to return to school and become a sports chiropractor.
Now, I own and operate: Maximize Human Potential, a mobile sports concierge clinic and personal training service. MHP’s mission is to make wellness, recovery, and training as accessible as possible. My goal with MHP Sports Chiropractic is to lower the barrier of entry to fitness and wellness by bringing recovery and training services to you – whether it’s at your work, your gym, or home – MHP helps you stay moving and moving well.
I am deeply tied to this mission because I believe that the more we are able to express our body’s fullest autonomy, the more fulfilled we will be in our every day-to-day experiences. The goal, through this, is to maximize our collective human potential.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been far from smooth. The initial business ascent was turbulent, but I kept reminding myself that an airplane uses around 20-30% of its fuel just for takeoff alone, and once it reaches cruising altitude, a smoother ride awaits us.
Running your business as a solo-practitioner has its own weight. It was difficult in the beginning, managing multiple roles in the company, such as accountant, bookkeeper, scheduler, social media manager, and everything else in between.
After MHP’s sophomore year, I had enough of a footing in the industry to branch out and work with many local companies and resources to alleviate major business operations. Now, MHP is entering a flow state that is far less stressful and much more open to opportunities that align with our values, missions, and goals.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in human movement mechanics and restoring functional ranges of motion. My extensive experience in the sports and fitness industry provides me with a deep understanding of how the body moves and functions.
I take pride in the opportunities MHP creates for marginalized communities, focusing on empowering women, the LGBTQ+ community, and people of color through freedom of expression in movement. When people are able to move freely and in a way that feels best for them, they reclaim power in spaces that have long been denied the resources, support, and recognition that they deserve.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up as a first-generation Vietnamese American in an immigrant family, I learned to navigate the complexities of balancing two cultures. I experienced firsthand the challenges of bridging these worlds and the resilience it takes to thrive in both. This shaped my adaptability, empathy, and understanding of how cultural backgrounds influence movement, healing, and self-expression. It’s why I’m passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their bodies.
I practiced Taekwondo for 12 years, building the mental discipline and fortitude that continue to guide me today. As a lifelong athlete with a passion for movement, I explored a variety of sports, including soccer, tennis, ping-pong, and lion-dancing. No matter the activity, I was always driven to improve, challenge myself, and maximize my potential.
