Today we’d like to introduce you to Mackenzie Grace.
Hi Mackenzie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started cosmetology school when I was 19 years old; a couple days into school, I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. From then on, I knew I wanted to finish school and start my career. My daughter is definitely my reason why I’ve worked so hard to get where I am today.
After graduating in 2018, I went on to work for a couple medical spas, but it was never really what I wanted to do. I didn’t feel fulfilled.
I always wanted to have my own business, I just didn’t know when or how.
Fast forward to 2021, I decided to quit my job, and I opened my business Mackenzie Grace Beauty where I offer different services, including Lash extensions, Brow lamination, and Waxing.
I’ve been opened for 2 years now and am growing and learning more every day.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve definitely had struggles along the way. When I started my business, I didn’t have much of a clientele, so I really took a chance opening my business, especially still being in a pandemic. I had to really advertise my business and get new customers in to show my work and get my name out there.
I started by taking models to practice my work and get better at my technique; as doing so, I built up a steady clientele and made some good friends through my business.
I really appreciate all my clients and have met some wonderful people along the way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed esthetician; I specialize in lash extensions and brows. I also offer waxing. I think something that sets me apart from others would be that I’m a lash artist who specializes in clients’ natural lash health; I look at my clients’ eyes and suggest what would look good with their eye shape and what lengths would look best on them based on their natural lashes.
