Today we’d like to introduce you to Mactaivious Jones.
Hi Mactaivious, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in South Carolina and raised in Texas for almost all of my life. Being here, I feel like I’ve grown into my own individual self instead of trying to fit in with trends a doing what the older people around me want me to do instead of what I actually value in life. I’ve managed to grow myself as a singer/songwriter, as well as a actor and boxer while still making small improvements to a bigger goal that I have in the future.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been tough in all aspects. Over the past year alone has been a mix of up and downs. I managed to have my first few fights, more invest in my music, I’ve been in one of the biggest theatre shows, and I even managed to get my first car. But while that all has been good, it’s not without its downsides. I’ve lost a lot of money investing into my self with more fails than success, i lost my dad who was my biggest inspiration and support, and I’m still having to figure things out by myself at 22. The biggest thing I think I’ve gotten back from it all is an amazing support group around me that gives me the confidence to push forward despite the downsides trying to weigh me back down.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a R&B singer that goes by the stage name “Phantom Senoj”. I’ve been making music for about 7 or 8 years now. I can confidently say I have found my sound and continue to evolve myself in bigger and better ways. I’m also an amateur boxer with 3 fights so far. I am just getting started and continue to raise my goal as I get better, with my goal right now to win golden gloves next year at 126 pounds. I’m proud to have step foot in the ring even with 2 losses right now, and I refuse to stop until I feel like I can’t go anymore.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to anyone trying to get their name out there is to use social media to the highest degree possible. We live in a generation where everyone is on their phone or some kind of technology. If you make short reels or YouTube shorts or tik toks, you reach a higher amount of people than making a full video, and the more eyes on you, the higher chance you have of getting actual fans.
