Meet Madeline Heffelfinger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeline Heffelfinger.

Madeline, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story started much like any other Houstonian girl. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. I grew up enjoying the myriad of museums, parks, restaurants, and theatrical performances this diverse city has to offer. When I was a teen, my family and I moved out to East Texas. While there, I gained an appreciation for a simpler way of life: open pastures, dirt roads, riding bareback, four-wheeler riding, gardening, among many other things. I can still recall the sound of the Whip-poor-wills, crickets, and the sound of old trucks riding down the backwoods late at night. All of these sounds created a melodious symphony under the luminous night sky. Fast forward to 2022. I am a 27-year-old Loan Originator (NMLS #2269594) with Cardinal Financial Company, Limited Partnership (NMLS 66247). My job allows me to do what I love: be with people! I love having the ability to use my positive attitude, my charisma, my humor, my dedication, my EXCELLENT communication skills, and my voice to help others attain “El Sueño Americano” – The American Dream. A part of what I hold as the American Dream is to be in this city. Houston, Texas is a city like no other. In this city, you have the opportunity to meet people of all backgrounds. The culture of this city is so rich. There is something here for everyone! You can be walking in The Galleria and hear the tones and intonations of 30 different dialects or more in one day. I feel so grateful to be in this city where I can help people from many different backgrounds and many walks of life. There is so much invaluable beauty and wisdom in each person’s story. I look forward to getting to know your story and having the opportunity to continue to serve Houston, the surrounding areas, and all of the great state of Texas! I would love to help you in the process of becoming a homeowner – cual es el sueño americano – which is the American dream! Please reach out to me with any mortgage related questions. I will be your best asset! (409)217-1249.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe that obstacles and dead-ends reroute us to our true destination. The things I learned when I was at my lowest are what bore into me what makes me truly who I am. I developed the most perseverant, optimistic spirit. I grew a strength within that is as strong as steel. Unbreakable. The challenges I faced allowed me to look deeply at myself and transform into the woman I wanted to be. I wouldn’t be who I am without my struggles. Life is, and will indefinitely be, a series of highs and lows. That is life. I have found that gratitude and patience are two of the things that have brought me to the point I am at today. I can experience difficulties more easily, knowing for certain that everything is temporary.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Mortgage Loan Originator (NMLS #2269594) licensed in the great state of Texas! I work for Cardinal Financial, Limited Partnership (NMLS 66247). I am known for my impeccable communication skills, kind and charismatic spirit, goofy, fun, and loud personality, and my willingness to go above and beyond for my clients and my realtors. I am so proud to be a part of The Burciaga Group. Steven Burciaga, our Producing Branch Manager, has outstanding leadership skills. With the Burciaga Group, everyone is empowered to be the best version of themselves. I am proud to work with a team that focuses on the importance of comradery, emphasizes the importance of professional growth in the day-to-day, and knows the value of celebrating both the big wins and little victories. What sets me apart from others is my curiosity and tenacity to understand the way things work and how I can consistently improve my strategies. When I joined this industry, I fell in love with learning how my industry is impacted by the economy. I love seeing how everything ties together. Studying the economy, as it relates to the mortgage industry, helps me to understand how what is going on in the world will impact my clients. Everything is connected, so I do my best to provide the most up-to-date data and information to those I have contact with. They don’t call me “Mortgage Maddie” for nothing.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe that without risk, one is destined to fail. There is risk in everything we do. The choice is whether we see it as a danger or an opportunity. I believe that risk is synonymous with faith. I think that often our hesitancy to take a risk has a reflection on our fear of failure. The answer lies in knowing that failure is guaranteed. We will all fail at something at one point or another. The true tragedy would be to never take a risk on ourselves, based on our fear of failure. If you do not take a leap of faith every once in a while, you will assuredly cheat yourself out of many opportunities to thrive. Once we realize that failure is a part of the process, we open to door to unlimited growth.
