Today we’d like to introduce you to Madelyn Gonzalez.
Hi Madelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ive always had a love for diy skincare when i was little. I would always make masks out of natural food etc. I also always knew i wanted to own a business but i never really knew what would get me there. I hopped around several different things during high school /college unsure of my calling and what career path to partake in. In 2020 I began to experience acne and went down a whole path of healing my skin and gut and through that i realized where my passion really was. I knew that’s what i wanted to help others with. However i still continued to put it off while i pursued other things until a financial setback happened and i knew i needed more stability so decided to enroll in esthetics school and there was 1 spot left. I invested all i had left into school, finished and got licensed and now i am here.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a very blessed road but not always smooth. I would say my biggest obstacle was the position i was in when i started, i had just finished up college and was still tryna figure eveything out and due to a bad situation had lost eveything i had saved , so finances definitely were a bit of a struggle in the beginning. I opened up a credit card and got approved for a good amount and spent all that to start my business and get all the main things and products while i continued my social media marketing company and finished school. I also experienced a lot of self doubt along the way but it was around this time i was getting back into prioritizing my relationship with God and i did always have a support system from my loved ones. I definitely want to thank my clients for taking me this far because without them maddygesthetics wouldn’t even exist. My clients have been wonderful and so beautiful inside and out and have made the hard days worth it and really brought a lot of happiness and fulfillment into my life. Their support means everything.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do a number of things – i specialize in lash lifts, customized facials, brow laminations, brow threading /waxing, and lymphatic /buccal facial massage. I feel i am most known for brow mapping /shaping and threading as well as offering keratin lash lifts. . I beleive that being able to offer a variety of options for clients , like threading vs. wax or normal tga lash lift vs. keratin lash lifts really helps to draw in attention from new potential clients. I also specialize in acne as well as sharing my own personal journey with gut health and letting others know how much the gut and skin connection really impact a role in your skin and overall health. There a lot of new services i plan to add as well and continue to grow my knowledge in acne to help others. My goal is really to just help enhance everyone’s natural features and just remind them how beautiful we all are in our own ways and help everyone glow from within and from the outside too.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone starting out i would say to find what you really love and go all in. If you really love something it will workout for you as long as your giving it 110% and keeping faith in yourself and in your higher power. Don’t let finances, doubts, feelings of fear and unknown, and others talking about “over saturation” of industries impact your dreams. And regardless if something doesn’t go smooth from the beginning, you either keep trying until you succeed or you end up discovering
something else along the way that leads you to your true calling and purpose of fulfillment and impacting those around you in positive ways.
