Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel and Tanika Mukes.
Pastor Mukes and his wife Tanika Mukes were forced out of New Orleans, Louisiana, due to hurricane Catrina. Former CEO Smoke 1 Records Manuel’s first Artist Trey 8 landed a deal with Master P. with No Limit Record/ Priority Records.
Manuel Mukes was picking up his 2 sons when his car was shot 9 times. One bullet hit him in his back, and it is still lodged in his chest today, damaging the nerves in his left hand. Now given a second chance at life Pastor Mukes has turned his life around, along with Pastor Tanika Mukes, which was his girlfriend from that time, but now his wife. They decided to live a life by helping motivate other people turn their lives around.
The now 46-year-old Pastors Manuel Mukes and Tanika Mukes looks back on their life with such grateful hearts. He and his wife, along with their six children, former CEO’s of a major record company had no ideal they were getting ready to give birth to a ministry. It went from Manuel and Tanika being an inspiration by telling their testimonies in their garage to having to move the meetings to a clubhouse because there were too many people to fit in their garage! They then moved into their own facility at 4508 Highway 6 North in Houston, Texas. The membership continued to grow to where they were almost at maximum capacity! Then they were hit by Hurricane Harvey! It completely wiped out everything they had! The building was damaged so badly to the point they had to rebuild walls, replace equipment, chairs, and the members were displaced for almost four months. This did not stop Pastor Mukes and his wife!! They continued to encourage and motivate not only their members but also the entire Harris county community!
As the water began to rescind, they would meet in parking lots, warehouses, wherever they could to keep the people motivated. Manuel Mukes is the Owner of Trusting Trucking, for over 15 years, where he has supplied jobs, cars, homes for so many in the community!
Pastor Mukes lost his 23-year-old son Manuel Mukes IV, in a tragic shooting in Los Angeles, California while returning a car on last year. Many thought this tragic event would stop him from continuing to Motivate and give back to the community. He never stopped preaching the word. He never let anyone see him with a bad attitude. His wife and children continued to support the ministry, and it is now thriving stronger than ever before! The main reason why this couple should be acknowledged is that they beat all odds! They have unbelievable strength! They are amazing Motivators, and this month is Pastors appreciation Month. Their members felt this would be a perfect time; after all they have been through to honor them by sharing their story. The church opened its doors back to the community on the 4th of October, and the building was packed with so many people ready to receive a motivational word. Manuel Mukes and Tanika Mukes are loving Pastors of Bound 4 Glory Ministries, Parents of four Beautiful daughters, one son Christopher Mukes, and Deceased son Manuel Mukes IV.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has been a difficult road, but well worth it! My family, My Ministry, and My business have been hit with Hurricane Catrina, Hurricane Harvey, and the Pandemic! The most tragic part of the obstacles was my son being shot and killed in Los Angeles, while returning a car in California. He was supposed to return home in two days and never returned. I flew to L.A. and was not able to even view my sons’ body until about 2 weeks over until the investigation was over.

Manuel Mukes is the owner of Trusting Trucking. I have been contracted with FedEx for over 15 years. I have employed over 35 people in Harris County Manuel and Tanika also own T&M Motors. This car company not only provides revenue to set his children up for the future; it also provides vehicles for those who cannot afford car notes or have bad credit. Pastor Mukes has given cars away to many people and members in Harris County.
