Meet Marco Gutierrez of Eklektic Jewelry Studio in Montrose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Gutierrez.

Marco, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We are a third generation jewelry company. Eklektic was founded in 1999 in the Rice village. In 2003 we moved to our Montrose location.

We specialize in custom made jewelry. We are passionate about making one of a kind pieces that are a reflection of your own personal style and history.

Has it been a smooth road?
We have been faced with obstacles that have been great learning experiences. One was our move from the Rice village to our Montrose location. We would get clients in the rice village just by the mere fact of opening our doors. When we first started in our Montrose location it was a little scary because we are located in a house and have no sign.

Now little has changed, but people have really enjoyed the fact that we are very discreet with our place. We keep hearing from our clients that it makes it more of a luxury experience.

We really enjoy the place where we are. It is a classic Montrose business.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Eklektic Jewelry Studio story. Tell us more about the business.
We are custom jewelry makers and we take a lot of pride in our business. We produce everything in house. From the drawings, to 3d printing and castings. Enamelings, stone cutting, restringing, appraisals, etc.

We make every piece, only once.

Our biggest difference with other places, besides the fact that are very few places that can do everything in one place, it is the way we treat people. We are always very grateful of every client that comes to us. We show this gratitude every time by making you feel like you are at home. It’s an experience like no other.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Currently, we are working on training our 4th generation of jewelers. We are also doing apprenticeships with individuals that are passionate about making jewelry. Traditionally our jewelers have been some of the most sought after jewelers after we train them. Now we hope to create workshops with local schools to show the beauty and art of making significant jewelry.

In the next 3 years we can only imagine what technology and our industry will take us. One thing is for sure. We are ready to grow and adjust to the future.
