Hi Maria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography began at a very young age. I was gifted my first camera when I was about 10 years old. My interest in capturing moments really took off when my first child was born. Prior to cellphone cameras, I would always carry my point and shoot camera in my diaper bag everywhere I go. I started documenting my kids games, activities and everything in between.
In 2020 when the whole world shut down I decided to dive in and learn more about photography at a much deeper level. I enrolled in online classes, watched tutorials and looked further into mentorship to equip myself with both the technical and business side of photography. After experiencing some significant changes in my family, I found myself drawn even more and the importance of capturing life’s moments. As I navigate each transition, photography has become a way to celebrate each memory.
Turning my photography into a business felt like the right thing to do for myself and my family. I’m grateful for the opportunity to capture memories and help others document their special moments too.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. At the beginning I was trying to do everything on my own. I found that there are great people that are willing to help. I love to learn and I have been learning from some of the best in the industry. There is still a long way to go but I’m eager to continue to learn and apply everything to my business.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
As we are approaching the holidays I can’t help but think about my childhood holidays. Every year my parents would take us to Mexico. Faith, family and food were always at the forefront of every Christmas tradition. From the posadas and parties with family and friends. We always started Christmas Eve at midnight mass and went home to celebrate with family and friends.
