Hi Maria, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Coming from an immigrant family, I was always taught to dream big & work hard towards my goals. Growing up, I loved expressing myself through art & creativity. I was also very passionate & connected to Earth, plants, and all living things. During my childhood, I always envisioned myself becoming a Florist, Wedding planner, or even a Teacher or Psychologist. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to pursue; however I knew my mind was open to many different possibilities, I decided to leave it in God’s hands. Graduating from high school was a big step to getting there, during my high school years, I studied hard, & started my first part time job. I always had great work ethic, I was focused & consistent, I knew I wouldn’t give up until I truly found my calling. I worked many jobs during my teenage years. After I graduated high school, I remained in the same job for 5 years, as time passed, I started getting anxious knowing that college wasn’t something I wanted to longer pursue. When I finally turned twenty-three, I decided to chase my dream of becoming a Florist, during this time I lost my job, so I knew this was God’s timing, I knew this was the perfect moment to take a leap of faith. On August 2023, I started my Floral business, I would practice by making arrangements for family & friends, I would post my work consistently on social media to gain clientele & build my portfolio. After one month passed, I finally got my first client, that was one of the happiest days of my life knowing I was getting closer & closer to accomplishing my goals. I remained passionate about my craft & even though I made many sacrifices, here I am today; I’m more than honored to be able to share my story. My business is thriving & being able to do what I love every day is my biggest blessing. Being able to take part in creating genuine moments for others truly fulfills me. My best advice would be to believe in yourself, trust God always put him first, if he believes in you, that is all you really need. Never give up & always chase your dreams. Live blissfully & always be your authentic self.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve made many sacrifices through my journey, but it’s all been worth it. I struggled getting recognized in the beginning and gaining clients. Remaining consistent & really devoting my time & effort has been something that has helped me overcome that. I have now had clients that love and cherish what I do.

I’m a self-taught Floral Designer based in Houston, Texas. I focus mainly on creating custom Floral arrangements for all occasions. I truly loved creating unique bouquets for each & one of my clients. Being able to work with flowers is a gift & blessing. I always put my emotion & creativity in all my arrangements. Working with. I’m very detailed & always make sure to add a very special touch to every design. We offer arrangements for every holiday, & season. It is never the wrong time to surprise your loved ones. Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
I would say the journey is never easy. It will take a lot of time, hard work, consistency & most importantly, faith in God. There will be sleepless nights, little to no clients. There will be times where you want to give up, but you simply don’t. Always remember why you started. Honestly, I believe everything happened the way it was supposed to; God guided me. I made sure to prepare myself well before starting my business. Make sure to gain knowledge, do your research & be sure this is something you’re passionate about. Really give it your all & strive for the best.
