Today we’d like to introduce you to Maricela Wilson.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Abba Color Photography is one of my loves and my true passion. I began capturing my client’s memories about 7 years ago and absolutely fell in love with every aspect of photography. From concept to the actual delivering of my art, I take special care to ensure my client’s experience is one of a kind.
I work on my own, and prep for every session with the out most care on my own, and other than the occasional help from a very limited and trusted individuals, I do most of my work. This allows the creation of relationship between myself and my clients. Some of them have blossomed in to amazing friendships that I hope to cherish forever.
I am a Christian and Proud of it! I strongly believe that God put photography in my path so that I could find my true calling making a living out of what I passionately love to do.
On a personal note, I am lucky to be married to the love of my life and we have two boys, 5 and 2.5, they keep us on our toes and keep life interesting every day! Even before the birth of my little one I feel that I have a special connection with children of all ages, especially newborns and am blessed to have such little models to work with. Capturing soon to be moms, families and the occasional event when time permits, are also a big part of my professional life.
Please tell us about your art.
The photographs I am able to capture for my clients are so dear to my heart, when my clients come in to review their images and I see their eyes water and tears come down from the joy and happiness they feel, that right there is why I do this, to know that these parents will have these memories forever and cherish them forever and that I was able to capture them, that makes it all worth it!
Each and every session I do is always customized uniquely to every individual client I book, even when someone requests something that I have done in the past, I always make small changes to make it more unique to them and their family and their baby.
Babies and pregnant moms inspire me so much, an expectant mother is just so beautiful and has such a glow, I love to style them in the amazing gowns we offer and help them see what I see and how absolutely gorgeous they are! It makes my heart happy to see their big smile when they see their images and we see our vision come to life!
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
The photographer community is such an amazing one, yes it can be lonely, but there are many friendly helpful photographers out there and I am proud to be part of it! We try and connect once a month or so by having dinners or social events that are announced in our photographer groups, so its important to join those groups!
