Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Johnson.
Mark, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Although I have been around hypnosis most of my life, my father was a hypnotherapist, I did not begin learning hypnosis until my mother passed away in 2003. Like my father before me, I became fascinated with guiding people through past experiences via Past Life Regression Hypnotherapy.
Like most people, I started working with clients nights and weekends and kept a day job for 6 years before deciding to go full time with this work. While I do work with more traditional hypnotherapist in Dallas, where I reside, I travel to a variety of locations, including Houston, where I only offer Past Life Regression and Life Between Lives Spiritual Regression.
I currently visit Houston 4-5 times a year for Past Life and Between Life sessions and several times a year my wife and I travel to Houston to teach our Basic and Advanced Hypnotherapy Training. I started traveling to New Orleans in 2010, the year my last day job ended. While planning a visit to Oklahoma City a lady from Houston contacted me asking if I ever come to Houston. I figured Houston is closer than New Orleans so why not.
Houston has become my most popular destination, I have more contacts there and I visit Houston more often that Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Hot Springs, New Orleans or Charleston, SC, my hometown. From my very first visit to Houston, I have discovered that my clients there have some of the most amazing experiences, that even amaze me as well as my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I initially worked in a suite in a hotel, but one of my clients who came to Dallas from Houston introduced me to the Spectrum Center and I have been working there ever since.
The only other challenge I have had is finding a place to stay while I am in town. Initially I stayed in local hotels, though it was often difficult to find a decent location for a reasonable price.
Lately I have been using Airbnb and initially that was not the best experience, however I have been staying with a great family for the last year and always look forward to staying with them when I am in Houston.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Good Vibes Hypnosis story. Tell us more about the business.
Reincarnation and Past Life Regression can be controversial subjects since many people feel it conflicts with their religious beliefs. I have been lucky in that people who are not open to this type of thing typically do not contact me.
This work is amazing and provides many benefits to my clients, things many people might not believe until they experience it for themselves. Some people bring physical, mental and emotional problems with them from previous lifetimes. When they discover the source of the problem is from a Past Life, I help them move past their challenge.
This might involve some sort of fear, pain, anxiety or a variety of different challenges. When my clients are able to move past challenges that they have been told they just have to live with for the rest of their lives, it makes me feel good that I have been able to assist them in making positive changes.
While there are others who take people back to previous lifetimes, my work is more therapeutic in nature due to the fact that I not only take my clients into a deep state, but I help them discover the source of their problems so that they can move past them in a positive way.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Things seem to fall into place for me, though I am not sure I would call it luck. There are many factors involved in running a business, and leaving it up to luck is probably not the best way to go.
That said, I guess I am lucky that I had the opportunity to study with the leaders in the field of hypnotherapy and past life regression. I have studied with several very prominent authors including Dr. Brian Weiss (Many Lives, Many Masters), Dr. Michael Newton (Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls) and Dick Sutphen (author of too many books to mention).
Again, it may not be luck, but I feel I was fortunate to be able to watch my father guide people back into past lives starting when I was 9 or 10 years in the mid 1960’s. I guess I have been in the right place and the right time, and if you want to call that Luck, then I guess I have been lucky.
