Today we’d like to introduce you to Marquise Ellis.
Marquise, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Djing about seven years ago, it was something I was just doing at first so I would Dj house parties and family reunions for free or 50$. I realized hey I’m good at this so I came up with a vision and a name for myself and company, so I took my initials who’s was MJE and came up with my company today Music Jamz Entertainment. The company was put on hold because I couldn’t really get anything started so djing just became a hobby for me at the time. It was the early part of this year in March, I was having a conversation with my wife and I was like I want to take the company to another level and get serious about, so she gave me advice and was like, well, you need to promote yourself and become the brand and from that conversation, I started promoting my brand through social media and business cards. I was doing promotion for the first two people to like, share or tag my post, I would Dj their next event for free, so I did some free things in the community such as baby showers and parties. I then begin to take pictures and record footage of my work and post at least 2 to 3 times a day until I was being booked. A little bit about Music Jamz Entertainment, our motto is: Your party, your way. We offer Dj service and effects such as stage lighting and fog. Since March, I end up being booked all the way until December 2019. My company is designed to give back to the community. Our dj service is very affordable and reasonable and it’s a family-oriented business. My goal is to grow Music Jamz Entertainment for the near future where I’m able to start offering Dj classes at a reasonable price and to hope one day that the company is well known around the Houston and Pearland area. I have also landed my first contracted customer with the owners and founders of Marina’s bakery every 2nd Saturday of each month. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road and the company has been blessed.

I specialize in Dj services and stage lighting. The proudest moment I have was being able to service the community and be an impact on the community, everybody knows me as Dj Mr.E the dancing and most entertaining dj.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future goals is to expand the company and offer Dj classes and private percussion lessons.
Pricing:
- If you want the basic package it’s a set price for 150$ and that only includes dj service
- Package B for 200$ you get dj service and stage lighting
- Package C for 250$ you get package A and B plus fog machine
- All my prices are not included with travel so I do carve a travel fee depending on how far a travel
