Meet Martha Labarca of Viena by Martha Labarca in Katy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martha Labarca.

Martha, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Viena was born from a dream that I always had to create personalized accessories for all type of women. I started this small business 5 years ago to give women the opportunity to say their stories through my pieces with elegance and beauty. All of my accessories are all unique and hand-made. I also have a variety of different options of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings that match all different styles. My line of accessories is very popular in Venezuela that I currently have a small store in which has given me the opportunity to expand my designs to different parts of the world. Today, I am currently opening my line of work here in Katy, Texas and I am very thankful that I am able to showcase my design in the U.S. as well. Viena has been a blessing in my life because I am doing what I love while at the same time being a full-time mother to 3 kids.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Some of the struggles that I have encountered with my business is the decline in the economy of my country Venezuela. I have always been a person who has fought for what is right. It has been one of the biggest struggles I have had to overcome in order to succeed in my business. But I have always been a person who has always seen the bright side of things. I believe that it is what makes you a brave and encouraging person.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Viena by Martha Labarca – what should we know?
I create personalized pieces of silver and bronze that are polished and bathed in 24k gold. Each piece is hand-made with love. I specialize in a variety of different pieces from earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and many more. I am known for having unique personalized necklaces with my client’s request, for example, having there kids name, or their brand on the necklace. The most thing I am proud of my company is that my clients are showcasing my pieces and each of them has importance in their lives. The thing that sets me apart from others is that I take my time with each piece and communicate as much as I can with my clients to give them my best designs.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband has been my biggest supporter since day one. He has always been there to give me ideas and guides me to be successful. Also, my children have been my motivators and my drive to show them to never give up on their dreams and to always fight for what they want in life. I want to be a great role model for them.
