Hi Maurice , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After 34 years in the oil and gas industry, primarily in pipeline construction, my professional journey began in Philadelphia and later brought me to Houston in 2005. Long before entrepreneurship was on my radar, I owned rental properties in Philadelphia, where I first picked up a paintbrush out of necessity. Maintaining my own units taught me something unexpected — pride in craftsmanship and the visible impact of doing work the right way.
As my corporate career progressed, I gained more than technical experience. The oil and gas industry instilled in me a deep respect for safety, structured procedures, and the discipline of systems. In that world, success depends on preparation, consistency, and accountability — lessons that would later become the backbone of my business.
Late in my career, I witnessed moments that reshaped my perspective. Seeing how seasoned professionals were sometimes treated reinforced a simple truth: nothing is guaranteed. That realization pushed me to create an exit strategy and build something of my own — a company grounded in quality, integrity, and long-term relationships.
Entrepreneurship has been humbling and rewarding in equal measure. There have been mistakes, challenges, and hard-earned lessons, but each obstacle brought clarity and growth. Throughout the journey, my wife has been my greatest source of balance and insight. Her perspective and steady guidance have helped temper big ideas with thoughtful decision-making, keeping me grounded when enthusiasm threatened to run ahead of strategy.
Today, the same principles that defined my career — safety, procedures, and the importance of reliable systems — shape how we operate. Because whether constructing pipelines or delivering a flawless finish, excellence is never accidental. It is built through discipline, preparation, and pride in the work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. The journey has included its share of challenges. My business model evolved as I adapted to changing workforce dynamics and differing expectations around work ethic and accountability. Educating clients has also been important, especially in a competitive market like Texas, where the lowest price is often mistaken for the best value.
One of my biggest lessons was realizing that sales alone don’t define success. Understanding financials, margins, and the bottom line is just as critical. Every obstacle became part of the learning process, shaping a stronger and more disciplined business.

My favorite childhood memories are the summer family vacations we took each year. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and all the kids — the whole crew together. Those trips were filled with laughter, excitement, and a sense of connection that left a lasting impression on me. They’re memories I still cherish, and they’ve inspired me to create that same feeling of joy and togetherness with my own children.
