Today we’d like to introduce you to Melbvee Bullard.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
During my 20-year career, I have had various roles representing increased levels of responsibility including housekeeper, front desk associate, night auditor and assistant general manager. I’ve excelled at select service hotels with Hilton and Marriott brands, and my most recent industry position was as the General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott.
I’ve worked with multiple corporate chains, turning around under-performing hotels, directing new hotel openings and leading training and development initiatives. I’ve also been recognized on multiple occasions for my team’s financial results and guest satisfaction results.
After many years in the hotel industry, I decided it was time for a new challenge. In October 2015, I decided to pursue my dream as a business owner and launched Kingdom Hospitality, LLC. Under its umbrella, I founded Royal Cleaning Services, a commercial cleaning company in Houston, Texas. My long-term goal is to open my own upscale bed and breakfast in the spring of 2018.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road for our business. But, as with any new business venture, there are always struggles. One of our bigger ones was creating awareness around a new and unfamiliar brand.
Royal Cleaning Services – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Royal Cleaning Services was established in Katy, Texas, in 2015. We specialize in commercial and residential housekeeping services including carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning and window cleaning.
We are known for perfection. It has to be perfect! And our famous “White Glove” inspections help us to ensure just that.
We are not like most cookie-cutter cleaning services. We love small transformation projects and offer a variety of add-on services to further enhance a client’s home or business. Some of these special projects may include tub refinishing, countertop recoating, a fresh coat of paint, minor repairs, and remodeling services.
We have transformed spaces from linen closets to garages and left clients in disbelief that they were the same spaces. These projects are our faves!
I am most proud of the pride that we take as a team in every service that we provide. We recruit only those that have a heart to serve others because people can tell when your heart is in what you do and it will reflect in your work as well. We go the extra mile and always take that extra minute to ensure that everything is perfect!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as the moment that you discover your passion and began fulfilling your purpose through exercising your gifts. I measure this by the number of lives that I impact because it is my passion to help others grow and fulfill their maximum potential.
