Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Gonzales.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Melissa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Initially, MelissaMarieTX started out as crafts. I made acrylic keychains, ornaments, and jewelry. As time went on, I wanted to turn MelissaMarieTX into something that would encourage women to love who they are. Being a first-generation college graduate, business owner, and a woman in STEM, a lot can tear you down but I had to find myself and learn to self-love. This sparked my obsession with self-care/love, making skincare products that help others bring out their natural glow.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a small business during a pandemic has not been easy. I had multiple events planned to showcase my products but due to regulations, events got canceled. Events that weren’t canceled had very little traffic. However, I took this time to help perfect my art. I tested more ingredients and focused more on driving my brand to self-love.

MelissaMarieTX specializes in self-love/care, all things to help the skin glow. I specialize in making artisan soaps, moisturizing lotions, and exfoliating scrubs. I am proud of how far MelissaMarieTX has come, from making small crafts to products that help women glow. What sets me apart from other companies is that I make everything with the body in mind and with the goal of helping everyone know that the positiveness in their life starts with positivity from within. You gotta nourish to flourish.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I like to think that luck has played a good role in my life and business. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to have my products sold in other shops, time to build my brand and being able to experiment with amazing butters and oils. I’ve also been fortunate with finding the right group of people to surround myself with to help me grow in my personal life and business venture.
