Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Winkler.
Meredith, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been a creative person. Growing up, I lived in the arts (singing, dancing, painting, and everything in between.) For most of high school, I trained for a career in musical theater, until I changed direction at 15. Around that time, I started writing and releasing music under the name Meredith Paige, which I still do today. As I got older, I decided to pursue a degree in Communications at Lamar University, where I’ll be graduating in less than a month with an emphasis in Advertising. I genuinely love this field.
I initially started posting on social media simply to promote my music, but quickly learned how challenging it is to capture people’s attention online. Instead of giving up, I became the marketer and social media manager I wished I had during that season.
I launched Media By Mer this past August to help business owners and entrepreneurs clarify their brand identity and create content with ease. My goal is to support collaboration while giving clients a more hands-off, stress-free experience when it comes to content creation.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Although I haven’t been in the industry as long as some, I’ve faced my share of challenges. One of the biggest is the subjectivity of art. Creative work is deeply personal, which is part of what makes it so special. However, it also means that every client has their own vision, even if they can’t always articulate it. I’ve had to learn how to guide people creatively while still honoring what they want, even when they’re not sure how to communicate that.
The other challenge I’ve faced is the saturation of the social media world. Someone once described it as “an ongoing open mic night,” and honestly, that feels true. Everyone wants to be seen and heard. With so many people creating and posting every day, it can be daunting. But I’ve learned to see that not as a barrier, but as a reminder to stay focused on making meaningful, thoughtful work that serves the people I’m creating it for.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator and social media strategist specializing in custom content calendars, brand development, and creative direction.
What I’m most proud of is how my clients feel after working with me. One of my biggest goals and guarantees is easing the stress that social media puts on business owners. Hearing clients say they finally feel supported, understood, and like someone genuinely cares about their success means everything to me. More than anything, I want the people I work with to succeed.
What sets me apart is that I’m not a traditional “social media manager.” I don’t handle posting or daily engagement. Instead, I focus on strategy, organization, and high-quality, personalized content. This allows me to work closely with multiple businesses at once while clients maintain authentic, real-time engagement with their audience.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I often wonder if I’d thrive as a barista or personal chef. I LOVE coffee and cooking (probably too much sometimes.)
