Today we’d like to introduce you to Meribeth Privett.
Meribeth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey began a long time ago when I faced some destructive parts of myself and reclaimed territory in my Life. My brother, whom I was extremely close to, passed away in May 2003. This loss and tragedy led me to a life riddled with apathy and an anesthetized soul. In 2005, I lost everything I owned in Hurricane Katrina.
This catapulted me into complete bankruptcy physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I fought and wrestled with my grief and numbness until February 2008. That is when my journey of transformation and reemergence began. I realize, in retrospect, that everything previous had been my initiation to the work I am stepping into now. My struggles have been converted to assets, which are the alchemy of my Soul. Those struggles are the gold, which I use to help other people find their truth and guide them to the path of their healing. I own my story today so that my story doesn’t own me.
It is important to understand where I have been, and where I am at today so I can know where I am going. I try to orient myself to the good, embrace the good with the bad, and don’t waste the pain…use it as the great motivator to expand and find liberation. I think about how much my life has changed in such remarkable ways over the past decade from doing the type of work I am stepping into. It makes me feel excited to bring a slice of that into my client’s life. It also has me in wonder of what’s to come. Some of the philosophies by which I live are – don’t take yourself too serious, but take life serious; Work hard and play hard; Fill your life with with things you’re passionate about; Stay curious; Try new things; Explore your interests, and if you fail, feel good about taking a good shot at something and move on; Life is meant to be messy, fun, and full of things that make you feel alive and free.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a long road of experience and exploration with many bumps along the way. I just kept walking through the doors that were open and stayed curious. Once the concept of starting this business came to me, the process has felt like a rapid unfolding. This confirms that I am on the right path for my life. I think I have experienced all the normal thoughts of a new entrepreneur… “Can I do this? Will people want my services? What if I fail? Do I have what it takes?” All those doubts and uncertainties are drowned out by the drumming in my mind to take this leap. Courage cannot exist without fear being present. We must experience doubt for faith to reign. Logically I know these things, and remembering these universal laws is challenging in that very moment of being scared or nervous. One of the challenges I have faced is owning my story. That takes vulnerability and can create a feeling of being exposed. I realize, because of the line of work I am in, I have to allow myself to be fully authentic and not hide in the shadows of my past. Every human being has a past, some harder or more complicated than others. It’s not the fall that defines our character, but how we pick ourselves back up and rise above the challenges. I have learned to bow to my hardships and struggles today, for they are my greatest teachers.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Soul Alchemy – what should we know?
My company specializes in personal development and energy transformation. I also perform home/business clearings or blessings.
As your personal development guide, I’ll help you identify your purpose, move past old patterns and break through limiting beliefs. Whether you’re seeking reinvention in your personal or professional life, or craving spiritual ritual and connection, we’ll develop a step-by-step plan to help you move forward into action and embrace the life and practices you most desire.
As your coach and guide, I’ll help you connect to your innate healer and learn to trust your inner wisdom. My process is designed to provide you with emotional intelligence, clarity, motivation and a renewed confidence to embrace your purpose and manifest change in your life. I help guide your life from functional to optimal.
In the interest of self-preservation, we often hold unexpressed emotions and store them in our body and our psyche, where they impinge on our physical and mental energy. Through energy transformation, including energetic extractions, chakra balancing, sound therapy, deep energetic healing, emotional discharge, and soul retrieval, I help release embedded and stagnant energy to make room for flow.
In these hands-on sessions, I work to retrieve, release, heal and develop areas in need of clearing. The effects of an energy session are sometimes subtle, developing over time, and sometimes powerful and immediate. As your body learns to adapt to a new flow, you’ll begin to feel a greater sense of wellbeing, presence, and clarity.
In my own journey, I’ve found that integrating techniques results in extraordinary growth and healing. I offer the same multimodal approach to my clients. By blending personal development coaching with hands-on healing, guided meditation, and energy clearing and balance, I use a holistic approach to help you discharge feelings and experience powerful and positive change.
For many of us, home is where we spend the majority of our time. It’s important that we feel a resonance and residency there. If your home makes you feel drained, depressed or scattered, clearing out physical clutter can help. And negative energy can also build up over time and affect your experience of your space. Home clearings and blessings can remove past energy and allow for a sense of purification and renewal. They are especially useful at a time of challenge, such as a divorce or break-up, or in anticipation of a welcome change, like the birth of a baby or a new year. Space clearings and blessings can also be performed in a place of business to free up energy for a new start, a fresh perspective and a renewed sense of purpose.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Having people around you who support your dreams and ambitions is priceless. I am so fortunate to have such an abundant network of beautiful people in my life. My husband is my number one ally. He is my North Star. When I shared with him what I felt inspired to do, there was not one moment of hesitation to encourage me and cheer me on. He has a very pragmatic point of view and I am more of a dreamer so he helps keep my feet on the ground. My incredible parents have lovingly supported me and cheered me on with anything I sought out to learn or try. My mom is by far my biggest cheerleader in my life. My father is an entrepreneur and has owned his own business for the past 50 years. He has modeled for me what commitment and hard work looks like. I owe a lot of my ambitions to my dad. My friend and business coach, Josh Smith, is the one who saw my potential and watered the seed of creation around starting this business. It is hard to see the gifts we have within ourselves sometimes. He pulled out my confidence and directed me to the path that I am walking today with Soul Alchemy.
Starting a business is not easy and comes with its individual obstacles and blocks. Having a coach to help me unpack my dream of what I am trying to create is monumental. Josh has been my muse! I have had so many healers and guides that I’ve worked with over the years. One, in particular, is my shaman. I learn so much from her and how she meets me where I’m at. She sees me. She guides me to my inner work and then tells me to go live and figure it out, come back and let her know what I find. She illuminates my strength. She challenges me to think another way and to stay open and curious. To take risks and explore my humanity. She has been one of the biggest influences in my life. Adam Miles is my longterm guide and life coach. He has held space for me to process my fears to lead me to clarity and resilience. He is my go-to guy when I feel like my plate is too full and I need to recalibrate and get a fresh perspective. His humility and listening skills inspire me. My branding and design agency, DesignGood has been incredible. Kristin Moses and her team are so dialed in and understood my mission and style. They have made my vision come to fruition. It almost feels like a digital vision board. There are so many details in opening your own business. Organizing those details, then translating them into something that will represent what you are all about is not easy and so very important. The list could go on and on. I am inspired daily by my beautiful friends and even strangers that I meet in my day to day life.
