Meet Mia Bradford of Beyond the Busyness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Bradford.

Hi Mia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Mia Bradford and I am a budding philanthropist with a passion for holistic health and wellness. My goal is to redefine self-care to include financial well-being. No one I’ve ever spoken to has heard of self-care and finances coming together. And money can be a stressful point for some. Daily I think to myself, If I can create an experience for women to have a better relationship with their finances and themselves, we would have happier women in the world. To be whole and well we must approach wellness from an integrative standpoint. It’s not just mental, just physical or just financial. We must address the whole person. I’m still on this journey myself and if I can help someone avoid the pain I’ve experienced, then I’m all in.

As one year was coming to a close and others were looking forward to the new year, I found myself in a depression. I was in constant physical pain. I was tired, lacked energy, and wasn’t on top of my game. I also had some emotional issues around rejection and abandonment that I needed to deal with. The funny thing is that on the outside it appeared that I had it all together–the car, the promotions, the business. But on the inside, I was falling apart and I was experiencing physical issues because I hadn’t taken care of my emotional issues.

Not only was my mind and my body not right, I also began to move away from the strong money habits I had developed, which led to me accumulating debt. Believe it or not, money habits are not just about dollars and cents; they are an outward manifestation of inner “stuff,” whether that stuff is good or bad.

In the midst of this experience, I was led to create Beyond the Busyness; and that is how my journey began. Beyond the Busyness held me accountable to the lifestyle I wanted to live and model for others. My life’s work is to empower high achieving women to give themselves permission to release the guilt of taking time for themselves. My mission is to create a new definition of self-care that is holistic in nature; focusing on emotional, physical and financial well-being. After working with me, women have a financial plan in place, are able to practice guilt-free self-care daily, and are working towards wholeness in all areas of their lives. And one thing that is near and dear to my heart is for my fellow high achieving ladies to feel confident and stand in their power when it comes to money; moving away from feelings of defeat.

The best part of it all is I fired my boss in 2021 and am now a full time entrepreneur navigating daily towards more time and financial freedom. In addition to Beyond the Busyness, I also started a corporate wellness company with a business partner where I am able to share my love for yoga and financial wellness with corporate clients. We booked our very first corporate client within a month of opening. It has truly been an awesome journey.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Although I had been an entrepreneur for years, I struggled with online marketing (well, let me be honest, marketing in general), creating content that connected with my target audience and setting up the infamous funnel. I still struggle with marketing and customer expectations. Even though I have everything laid out on my LinkTr.ee I still get so many questions from potential clients and as an introvert it’s overwhelming. I also struggle with how to share my message in a way that resonates with my target audience. I am fully aware that financial healing can be overwhelming, frustrating or even downright scary to say the least, so I’ve learned patience, empathy and compassion for my clients and even for myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Beyond the Busyness’ mission is to redefine self-care creating a holistic definition that encompasses emotional, physical and financial well-being. Beyond the Busyness is a financial wellness company that exists to help high achieving women of color examine their relationship to themselves and self care, make and maintain any shifts needed to make, and develop a healthy relationship to your finances, emotions and physical wellness.

My goal of redefining self-care to include financial well-being is a unique value proposition. No one I’ve ever spoken to has heard of self-care (emotional and physical wellbeing) and finances coming together. For many of my clients, money can be a stressful point. By creating the Financial Healing Experience, our signature program, my goal is for women, especially entrepreneurs, to have a better relationship with their finances and themselves, inspiring happier more joy filled women in the world. I use yoga and aromatherapy as a modality to heal financial mindsets and create a new trajectory in all aspects of life. To be whole and well we must approach wellness from an integrative standpoint. It’s not just mental, just physical or just financial. We must address the whole person. I would be honored to guide them along this stage of their wellness journey.

I host online events focused on building a strong financial foundation, aromatherapy, yoga, and alternative methods of health and wellness. I also offer a la carte financial services such as cash flow management, debt elimination, insurance, retirement and assistance with estate planning.
