Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Ray Garvin
Michael Ray , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a former NFL player and former Professional Track athlete. I was signed to the Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions. I also competed in the 2011 USA Indoor championships and placed 5th in the 60 meters with a time of 6.63.
I was the fastest man of the 2009 NFL Draft and posted unofficial times of 4.18 and 4.22. The official times were 4.24 & 4.28. While running my 40yd dash, the world famous picture was taken which gave me the nickname, “The World’s Most Jacked Athlete.” I also competed in the 2016 American Ninja Warrior Qualifying round in Oklahoma City. My story being nicknamed the World’s Most Jacked Athlete was featured on NBC.
I am looking to impact the lives of athletes by giving them the knowledge to excel in my books. I am an author of several books that are available to purchase on all platforms. My books are designed to help athletes become universal in sports and life. Universal meaning, they know how to take care of themselves, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
I currently offer a program through my non profit organization Playmakers In The Faith where I offer free training and discipleship to high school and college athletes in the Houston area. They have access to our free mobile app, Playmakers In The Faith, which helps them in sports education and spiritual development.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road getting to where I am right now. When I first started with training athletes I just moved from Michigan to Texas in 2011 so it took time to make connections and get some clientele. After years of being patient and persevering we have grown and established a program to help athletes in every area of their life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My professional background is mainly in sports. I was a two sport All American in high school and college in football and track and field. I was a two sport professional athlete in football and track and field. I later became a certified trainer and sports nutritionist through ISSA and have been training athletes for over 13 years.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I am also developing the first ever Christian Sports T.V Series and video game called Playmakers In The Faith that shows the spiritual warfare in our everyday lives.
In my program, the Universal Athlete Program, anyone can donate to our non profit to help sponsor athletes for free training and discipleship.
