Today we’d like to introduce you to Michele Walker.
Michele, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Former educator and school administrator, I’ve always had a passion for fashion and dressing up. Although I enjoyed my work in education in the back of my mind I always wanted more. One day I took a leap of faith and invested everything I had on myself and on June 9, 2015, little black dress boutique. It started as a small online boutique and in oct 2015 I was able to open my first brick and mortar location in St Louis Mo. During that time I began styling local socialites and customers for special events which lead to another branch of my business. Women would contact me for wardrobe consulting, private shopping etc. And little black dress grew from there. About a year later I made the decision to relocate little black dress to Houston texas . Fast forward, here we are today! My store is still availble online and for 2018 we have a 10 city pop up shop expidition planned called “A Little Black Dress Affair”
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Has it been easy?? Not at all!!! This has been the hardest journey of my life. There are many days I cry, question myself and my decision but I push through because at the end of the day I love what I do and I love running my own business. I think the hardest part thus far was moving to a new city all alone and in essence starting all over building a clientele, customer trust and making name for Little Black Dress Boutique.

Little Black Dress Boutique offers an array of services such as wardobe consulting, personal styling, special orders and private parties where we bring little black dress boutique to you! We soecialize in making women look and feel their best!! I think what sets us apart from everyone else is our personalized service. Our ultimate goal is to build relatinships with all of our customers (even online which is why our website offers a chat feature where you can immediately speak with a live agent of LBD and ask any quedtions.) Not only do we want customers to look abd feel their best we also want to provide them with the best shopping experiece ever.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would done anything differently. Every mistake and “bad decision” was/is a learning experience. I needed to experience everything I did in order to learn and grow both personally and professionally. Im still learning and making mistakes each day.
