Meet Milagros Salazar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milagros Salazar.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Milagros. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a student in High School, I was unsure about what or who I wanted to be. I was a Student Athletic Trainer but also found myself passionate about political and forensic science, as well as business. Junior year, I was set that I wanted to become a Doctor. Since it takes many years to achieve that, I began taking dual credit classes for an Associate’s degree in General Studies. Senior year came, and I snapped. I loved medicine but also realized business was my cup of tea. I often complained about not having control about my own time and becoming my own boss sounded ideal. I began experimenting with Multilevel Marketing on top of foreign exchange markets, and drop-shipping. The interest in them faded as I began pondering better ideas, but are not discarded as they can be resourceful one day. I then graduated college in May and high school in June and transferred to Houston Baptist University. At 19 years old, I am a senior in college and God willing plan to graduate with a Bachelors in Business Administration in May of 2020.

Since I have graduated, I became a Notary Public, build resumes for individuals looking to get into the workforce and help start-ups establish their entities. Aside from that, I also have capabilities to create and print marketing material. As you can tell, the perfect word to describe me as is versatile. I easily adapt to any work given to me and also am very resourceful in terms of book-keeping, marketing, and have fair knowledge in filing petitions and claims with courts.

My future plans include running my own business as well as acquiring a license to do real estate transactions in Texas. Law or Grad School is also in the picture but life is full of surprises so we will see!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Aw man. Obstacles? A WHOLE LOT. Did they defeat me or stop me? HECK NO. It got real after high school. I was working as an Administrative Assistant for a start-up company, and honestly, it was NOT paying the bills. Luckily I got a scholarship and FAFSA money so I didn’t have to pay the original amount of my tuition but, there is and was a lot coming out of pocket. Furthermore, I was working so much and began slowly declining in my studies. I also had a car note, insurance, and much more bills of my own to pay. Then it hit me. I was building somebody else’s business and was forgetting about achieving my goals. Shortly after, I resigned and obtained a position in another start-up business.

Between all of this time, I had an incarcerated loved one for about two months. At the time, I was 18 years old, hiring lawyers, filing bonds. I had first experienced this at the age of 17 and then again at 18. Except at 18, I had more power to help. I was struggling as is, but this never stopped me from helping others who had incarcerated loved ones as well. Within this time, I felt good to help multiple people cope with the situation as well as get them through the process of courts, commissary, collect calls, and bonds.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Oh boy. I do A LOT of things. I am widely known for my resumes as well as solving problems. Yes, solving problems. I recently had a couple whom purchased a home. After 2 1/2 months of the purchase, unbelievably they had not received the deed. They called me in regard to the situation, and before the three months mark, I had obtained their deed. I have also had experience with filing entities or assumed names amongst other business-start up requirements. I ALWAYS take the extra mile to deliver results for my clients. I also recently announced my capability of printing and graphics. Shortly after, I did receive clients whom ordered and were very satisfied.

What makes me the most proud? Seeing my clients satisfied with the results of my work. In addition to that, I work about 30 hours a week on top of 18 credit hours a week (school) and still invest my time in growing my business and working with my clients.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would probably value my work much more. I am very resourceful and unfortunately under-charged many of my assignments/tasks.

My talent sets me apart. I am the go-to person for many things and sometimes I gave expensive knowledge for free. It took me a lot to gain that experience just to give it away.
