Today we’d like to introduce you to Misty & Dore’ Lewis.
Misty & Dore’, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My wife and I conceived a baby boy (Dallas) 18 months ago using IUI. We wanted to start a side hustle to pay for his college. Knowing nothing about beards, having no facial hair, I researched everything I could on an all-natural way to make beard oils and balms. We set up a beard making station in our kitchen with the help of our 12 years old Klaya and started our trial and errors. Once we perfected the scents and products we started to try them out on our bearded friends and family. I may have even let my leg hairs grow out to test our products. Shortly after that, we set up our website and posted on social media. Our little beard venture took off, so much that we had to hire others to help run Grizzly Grease.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At first, we were uncertain of how the bearded community would react to purchasing beard products from someone who did not even have a 5 o’clock shadow.
To our surprise the beard community has embraced us with open arms. Being an all-woman ran company, in a male industry has not phased these bearded bastards one bit. We have met some really cool gentleman along the way. Made some really good friendship, with lots of people in other states.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Grizzly Grease Beard Co. – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Grizzly Grease produces all-natural products for the bearded man. We carry a line of beard oils, waxes, balms and bearded apparel handcrafted in the great state of Texas.
I think we are most known for the gay girls in Texas with a beard company that has unique products such as Morning Wood, Willie Fluff and Stiffy’s mustache wax.
I’m most proud of my family and friends that have supported us every step of the way. Buying our products, re-posting our ads on social media and spreading the word.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Grizzly Grease is currently on the shelves in a few barbershops and hair salons in the Houston area, I have several businesses jumping on board with us in 2020. Our products are currently under review to be sold on Amazon.
