My generation loves to be different, and also loves to be similar in ways of fashion trends. I remember being annoyed by the fact that a lot of clothing stores sold the same pieces. I was told by friends and family that I should just start my own boutique, and so with a little of prayer, research and encouragement, I did. CHANTÉ sis an unconventional sense of fashion for men and women. Fashion is defined as a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behaviors; but for this company, fashion can be defined as an eccentric way to declare your being. Unconventional in wardrobe is to be atypical with patterns, design and even colors. Chantè was created to ignite the uncanny side of an individuals’ style.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road to building a fortune 500 company will never be completely smooth starting off. Although I studied and did months’ worth of research, some components of developing my own company were still far in reach. Creating a business plan is key to starting any type of business and my business plan had a lot missing like a budget, some marketing tools, and my target competition. After developing a second business plan and including these missing pieces, I would say that CHANTÉ’s road to becoming the worlds’ most popular clothing store is coming up smooth.

Chantè is an unconventional sense of fashion for men and women. We are known for our dissimilar style and that’s what sets us apart from others! We are most proud of how fast we are growing our business.
What were you like growing up?
As a child, I was very involved in fashion. As a teenager, I remember that it was a MUST to match from head to toe. I used to wear huge bangles and hoop earrings and my belt had to match my purse or I wasn’t wearing it. I would cry if my outfit didn’t look right or match how I wanted it to. As a young adult I grew out of the “this has to match” phase and grew into “let’s see how this goes together”. Now as an adult fashion is no longer just a matching game, but it is a way of life.
